Another one bites the dust (collarbone)

Broke my left clavicle last saturday on lower sunset ridge trail just above millard campground. Classic pedal strike and torpedoed the dirt with left shoulder. Hey at least it wasn't my head taking the impact! Minimally displaced no surgery.

One week in pain already manageable without any ibuprofen.

 

Nice and clean, good job on that one. Might not play well with your modeling career or the straps of a heavy backpack, but it’ll be mostly bombproof functionally. I’ve had three of em; no big long-term issues. TFPU; heal well.

 

Boooooo! Can't like your post, but can send you magic healing rays. Consider them sent. Heal up quick and get back on the horse.

Welcome to the clavy snapper club. I've done my twice. I'm no doctor but that brake looks pretty minimal which is good. Hopefully you're healed up quick and back out on the shred sled soon!

 

Thanks for the healing vibes guys! It’s tough going from biking 10 hours a week to nothing. I guess I gotta focus on recovery now. Maybe a bike trainer after bone sets in three more weeks

Hey! its been over a month now and I'm feeling good again. Sling is gone, range of motion coming back. Hope to be on a bike in another week or two, waiting for full ROM in shoulder and no discomfort in bone doing planks.

I have been an equal opportunity Collarbone breaker. i have broken both sides. Didn't really like either time...

 

7 1/2 weeks, full range of motion, shoulder weak and atrophied. Went on my 1st MTB ride yesterday, up Brown down Fern to the meadows. I'll wait another week or two before doing anything too bumpy, it feels weird. Great to be back on the horse!

Good to hear... go slow they say, take it easy they say. That's nearly impossible I say. But the broken clavicle club is another I'm not in (yet) even tho I love a low BB (jinx?)
