I can ride tomorrow. Spent the day with the better half doing stuff she needed to do.

 

Me too....

 

...because I just came back to reality. This was our 28th consecutive year of houseboating. It was fabulous while it lasted...

I got that concert t-shirt when Dio was already very ill and they were performing as "Heaven and Hell" (Dio/Sab reunion). I saw them twice on that tour. RIP Dio.

I meant that the trip was over too quickly, as usual. I knew that I had a mountain of work to return to this year so I was dreading the return to reality more than ever. This was our 28th year houseboating, same seven guys!!!

And, oh yes, we will be back next year,... and the year after,... and so on, and so on...

We saw that the other day... I wish I had only paid $5. It was as hokey as intended!

 

For $5 I can't complain, but it was pretty boring...

Watched The Tick and What We Do In The Shadows when I got home, and enjoyed those shows sooooo much more.

 

My only chance to ride this week and I forgot my shoes. And my spare gear has been removed from the van for fair season... Just couldn't do it in slide-mocs.

That's what my wife says...

 

Family day.... the wifer and I and the pooch hiked in the San Bernadino NF. Wife has been struggling with some health issues so this was kind of a big thing for her and certainly a confidence boost. That the views didn't suck really helped. Started with the National Children's forest loop (about a mile) and then the Keller Peak road, from just past the Exploration Trailhead (and currently closed to vehicles, which was nice). We didn't quite make it to the top of Keller, didn't want her to overdo it on practically her first time out hiking at altitude in many moons.

I'm planning to ride Exploration tomorrow, so a little recon for me too Glad I didn't try to go today, it was busy!

The reservoir at Snow Valley is full to the brim.

I have a valid excuse. The wife got a brand new, high-end, titanium knee this morning so I figured it'd be better for my physical health to spend it at the hospital. She can use it later this summer to ride with me.

Thankfully everything went well and the doc says no issues.

AND it's a thousand flippin' degrees outside.

 

Glad it went well, Scissors... You’re excused from riding for the day. Probably more...

 

...because it's 101 degrees outside (now that I am done with work)...

 

If I can work in it then I can ride in it....

 

Nope, not the same. Not at all.

 

I wasn't gonna ride to work today but my wife said "It's Monday and you always ride on Monday so suck it up buttercup..."

 

I would if I could, but I can’t, so I won’t.

 

At least you don't deny being a buttercup.
