    Pretty simple stuff here:

If you were forced to choose ONE model of tire that have to use for the remainder of your days, as both a front AND back tire, on whatever or every bike you own in every imaginable condition....what tire are you going to choose?

My choice: 2.35 Schwalbe Nobby Nic's

Tried many and many were good but none were as great (for me) as the Purg. I just wish they would offer it in a 2.35 or a 2.4

Rekon 2.4 is presently front and back on the Tin Lizard and the Hightower. I'd go with that... It's a decent volume, great grip, supple, and it's not a rolling pig when I have to do a few road miles to get to the trail.

2.25 maxis ikon. Enough volume for the dirt and small enough for the road.

I'm with @Rumpled on this one. No one tire does it all for my road, gravel, and mountain bike. However, for the mtb alone I'd probably stick with the tried and true Maxxis Ardent 2.25. Can't think of anywhere it's failed me.

A BMX tire, but I’ll choose it in a New York minute.

Come on now, don't overthink this. We're only talking mountain bikes on the iMTB board and we promise not to hold you to only purchasing those skinny 2.25's :D:thumbsup:

I'm with @Faust29 on this one. Having ran just about every MTB tire known to mankind (slight exaggeration) the 2.4 Rekon is a great compromise very any kind of riding I would ever do.

I’ll vote Hans Dampf 29 x 2.35...The old ones since I haven’t tried the new design. They roll good, reasonably light, grip ok and are durable enough for me plus they measure over 2.4 once they stretch. Ran this combo on my Ripley for quite a long time.

Running 29 x 2.4 rekons on my Hightower right now but have limited time on these so the jury is still out. Like everything so far except that they measure much thinner than 2.4

Would’ve voted Nobby Nic 29x2.35 but I’ve never ran it as a front.

Mine would be Maxxis Agressors, I haved used them front and rear on my Devinci and they work great in all the conditions I have used them in.

WTB Nanoraptors. My trails are smooth, and the roads are smoother. I crash on Nobby Nics, so lugs appear to not help me any.

“One Tire to rule them all, One Tire to find them, One Tire to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.”

This is a struggle for me...
If it's 27.5 Plus: Maxxis Rekon 2.8's hands down.
If it's 29'er it's a battle between Maxxis Rekon 2.4 (Although I think I would go with a 2.6 due to not measuring wide enough) or a Maxxis (f) DHF/(r) DHRII (If I had to pick one I would go DHF)...

Best I can do in choosing one.

I've actually ran the DHF front and rear and though a little heavy it is a great combo.

In all honesty, I havent put a set of DHF(R)-II on that I didn't like. They get the job done on all of my non-rigid bikes currently. But always willing to look elsewhere... cough WTB Verdict/Judge cough

The Ikon has been my goto tire in the last 3 years. The 2.2 is just the perfect combo for going fast.
Recently I got a bike with 2.35 Forekaster, and I think is it a more versatile tire (but not as fast).

I like to try some Perrelli's if I can figure out who actually sells them.
