    Good words!

They did the seemingly impossible, bringing a line of CF core MTBs into domestic production. They’ve earned whatever prosperity comes their way. Crafty bastards!!!

I’m not gonna lie either! Alu and steel is where I’ve happily landed. The weez can have plastic if she wants. Smash is the only bike I’ve liked enough to buy two. There are a bunch of the metal GGs around for us Luddites.

CF used to be a big weight savings. I’ve found that, with great pedaling geo/squish, the only time you feel heft is putting your bike on a rack. Seriously, I did literally carry my Smash through hell's half acre around Tahoe, and at those times I was not thinking, Oh this alum is so portly...

I’m stoked to see a company shake up the status quo. That being the cycle of overpriced Asian CF frames. And yes, craft. You understand better than most.

Roger that. Keep a XC race rear tire on hand for marathon days, instant XC bike. Not giving up the coil, sorry...

In CO! Not so much in Socal. Prefer to see before I buy, and not risk shipping damage. Maybe a road trip is in order...

What Steve said. Limited time offer, tho, I'm sure.

Otherwise, yes, that's the down side of the GG model. It's known that GG has pretty thin representation in SoCal.

That can be plus though. Full bike ships for 150.00 and no sales tax, saves some money for sure.

Have you approached them with an offer to be a SoCal ambassador? You're already doing it.

    If not - I will!

@mike, I did mention to Bailey the other day that you've helped create a nice ground swell for GG out here, at least among our circle.

Chris, I did a year of BAMF but elected to not re-up. Still 100% behind their mission and products. The opportunity is there for a SoCal BAMF. Get in touch with GG: https://ridegg.com/rider-program

Thanks for that, Matt. I'm glad to help promote US manufacturing and help people get on bikes they love.

It’s so funny how different perspective can be! I have the complete opposite reaction with mine every time I load it on the rack...it feels almost scary light to me! My brain/body are used to my probably 35 pound Waltworks steel 29+

I’m still looking for a smash. Found one in my size but the price for the frame (granted it comes with two shocks) is almost the same as a brand new carbon fiber frame with warranty. Can’t stomach that for a used frame, even if metal is now discontinued. The search continues.

I get why they size their frames as they do, puts a larger number of riders of average height more in the middle of the size, bell curve thing and all. But that makes more difficult for us short-ish guys, especially when there are not many in various sizes around to demo. At 5'8" I'm on the cusp of S and M, and the S is actually longer than my current bike so that's what I would go with, and the smaller wheels too, so an MT. Just not many metal ones available in S on PB right now, in fact one in the country, in Denver. Will continue looking, and contemplating options.

In aluminum you're right in the middle .

In the carbon fiber your a 2 with most likely long on the headset.
I'm 5-6.5 and it or me on a 2 with short headset and 50 stem.

Did you try their fit calculator?
    No, well here you go!

I've learned to consider ape index more when sizing a frame. One person's "reach" is not the same as another rider of the same height. FWIW.

Dave, I can check out that or any Denver bikes if you need. Next best thing to being there...? :geek:

Thanks Dan, I did go through that when they first announced the new bikes. After mulling it for awhile, think I want to go with Aluminum.

And thanks Mike, I'm a +3 I think (5'11" wingspan) so yeah, could prob go a bit longer. PMing

What I can get a full squish bike for less than servicing my fork/shock? I was hoodwinked! Thanks for sharing I'll buy 2 or 3 so I don't have to wait for shipping between rides as I blow these up.

N(to me)BD :) Stoked! It's in really nice shape, better than expected (bought sight unseen except pics), and was lightly used in Vail CO for 4-5 months. A little under 31lb as it sits w/pedals. This will be my first experience with SRAM brakes and drivetrain. Hoping to get out tomorrow for maiden voyage.

That bike looks sweet. I love that color. I have the Revive on one of my bikes and I think it's the best dropper I've ever used.

Hopefully you'll be one of those rare people that actually like you're SRAM brakes. There's one guy in our group that prefers SRAM, everybody else runs Shimano brakes. We also all run SRAM drivetrains except one guy that run old school 2x10 XTR.
