Technically, the flat tire was on the smooth fire road after the technical section... AKA @DangerDirtyD Style.

 

This thread is better than the actual ride.

 

How much elevation are we talking? I don't see it posted on their site. And will an MTB do for this ride?

 

I think I had about 5300’. It’s not huge. Well it’s kinda if you think that the majority of it is done in the first half.

Yep... Berni is right on. It's in the 5300 range. This is actually the ride I first met him in 2015 (?).

If you don't have the Jeep trail, the course is just an out and back on chunky fire road. There are a lot of really chunky sections as well as a couple miles of sand pit. And a few possible HABs both ways. A hardtail is perfect, but I will probably ride the Hightower. Great training ride for Kokopelli... The first 17 miles is a ball breaker, and then the climb up to mile 23 is pretty painful.

Super noob question here. (Haven't been on a ride like this yet) For instance, the 25 mile ride, is it 12.5 out and 12.5 back?
