Tandem MTB is more than riding a big bike with a weight on the back that doesn’t flick for sht. It’s a fun that defies description, pulling off terrain with your other on the same bike. We had so many laughs on our tandems. It’s not for everyone, but if it’s for you it can be a riot. If money and space was no object we’d still have at least one.

Wife and I were looking at tandems 25 years ago but back then most were made for touring. The serious off road mountain bike versions were outrageously expensive. Way beyond our budget back then.

We have a lot of fun riding our tandem. It is fun to push it down trails that we shouldn’t be riding on a bike that oversized.

It did look though in the video that he was pulling up in the front when hitting a few of the drops...not sure what that was all about, you cannot get the front tire off the ground on ours.

However it does make sense that you just hit everything faster and it should jump.

There was an article/video awhile back about a father-daughter enduro team and now I can't find it. Damn intertubes. It had some crazy video footage of them...

That was what I was wondering about. How do you keep the front wheel up?That and does the back of the bike want to kick up when you do a drop?

Not really....the wheelbase is sooooo long that even if it does, it would have to be really really steep to get it to go OTB.

The first steep part of Booby Trap... Where I gave myself a 4 inch scar on my leg a couple months after this was shot.

The kitty litter was easily several inches deep for this.

Ever seen a boxcar endo? :)

I could get the front wheel a few inches off the ground, even with flats. Not such a useful technique on a tandem. It’s more like jumping than manual’ing.
