Reading the comments on their Facebook page it appears they are hopeful for riding conditions. The organizer is not postponing or moving ride. With two sunny days ahead of the ride will it be enough to dry BS out?

Neither have I...no time like the present. Bike is prepped, water bottles are in the fridge. And after today I pretty much have a hall pass. After B*, Motorway may be in the cards.

I think the ride doesn't start until 8:30....but I do plan to be there at 7:30. However, I haven't officially cleared this with the boss, so stay tuned.

I need to get a decent sized ride either way, so I'll most likely be out there. Chipping away at the 16,000 feet I still need...

Come on, Rocky... Black Star is a great training climb. And it's easier in a crowd!

Yeah, drag your posterior out there. Use whatever excuse you have to. It's only a 1:30 climb, after all, and coming back down is always memorable. :p

7:30 is when people start to gather. Don't get there too early or you'll be standing around a lot. Last year I got there about 7:30 and because I had a couple of cases of canned goods I drove all the way down to the gate. I dropped off my food, then drove way back up the road to park, rode back, helped myself to a cup of coffee, drank it, helped myself to a second cup, drank that one, and I STILL was getting cold standing around.

At 8:15 the spokesperson for the charity came out and gave a quick speech thanking everyone for coming, and we had a group pic for the newspaper. THEN we left on the ride. The web site says the same time - 7:30 meetup and 8:15 start.

I don't know what percentage of people bailed on the ride, but it was substantial. Hidden Valley people were turning around left and right. When I got up to Beek's there were only perhaps five other riders there.

By the way I think the photo I posted earlier is @Grego 's. I liked it so much I saved it from last year because the ones I took didn't capture the wind as well :) See you all there!
