Not sure how I feel about that. I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the years. They seemed to suffer from lack of vision and mission. Trying to dabble in a little bit of everything, with no real passion for anything.

I guess I'll go see if there's something for me to pick off the corpse.

 

They excelled at bike-specific clothing selection when all other bike shops didn't bother. I also must take advantage of them this weekend.

Kinda sucks because they were on the way to and from where I was going, when I needed anything other than tubes.

 

Psss.. So much for my free maintenance and adjustments. Zackly why I want to learn on my own. Going to pick up an SE tomorrow anyway.

I'm not surprised. I have been buying from Performance since 1985. They jumped the shark when they bought out Supergo. Hasn't been the same to deal with since. The last 2 times I was in the Tustin store, they were out of the product that I wanted even though it showed on the website that it was in stock. I asked if they had any in back and both times I was told there were a number of boxes from the latest delivery and that it could be in there. Also both times, they had been bench racing in the repair area and had zero interest in seeing if it was in the delivery. Was told "they didn't have time to look". Not once, but twice?

I hate seeing a well run family business get so big that they sell to a holdings company and then it gets run into the ground. Unfortunately this happens to often.

I won't miss them.

 

LOTS of people in Performance now, stuffs going fast. Bunch of roadies. Waaaay more women in road biking it looks like.

 

Here we go again

 

I stopped in there...needed socks and a USB ANT+ Stick. Got the stuff for 20% off. Too bad they're going away, convenient for little stuff.

 

Daughter got a great Giro helmet, Performance shorts and a water bottle cage. Wife got a Fox riding shirt.

I got ferrules. But I have my eyes on a pair of 5-10 Hellcats in my size and a Race Face waterproof jacket. Both are still too pricey to justify, even at 30% off.

 

Or fuchsia!

 

I saw the Showers Pass jackets and almost grabbed one. But still too many ducats to justify right before Christmas.

 

My Showers Pass jacket was one of the best investments I've picked up in this sport. I'm eyeing a lighter one now...

 

That Race Face jacket I tried on today was sublime. However, I rarely ride in rain, so 30% off $235 wasn't happening.

Me too! Tree up Saturday night. Lights on yesterday. Wife and daughter put the ornaments on 30 minutes ago.

Lights went up this weekend. I'll get a tree this week.

 

My neighbor put a string of lights up for us, calls me the grinch. Wife finally has decided not to worry about Xmas. I have been on that train for awhile. Son doesnt give an S about it either. Everyday is special not just a date on the calender, I give often all year round.

 

No pic of te tree but wife got that decorated soon after Thanksgiving. I got my perfectly straight lights up on Saturday while fighting a sore back and vicious bees.

Yes, every light gets stapled and some get more than one.

 

I we picked up thy holiday tree on Sunday evening. A Noble Fir, it is.

 

I ate too many jalapeños.
