National Sandwich day

It's National Sandwich Day.
Whatcha eatin'?

 

Well, I was gonna stop at Wendys, which is on my work route, but I stepped on the scale this morning and found that I have gained 4 pounds this month so I think I will just starve until dinner.

Stress SUCKS!

 

Seared ahi tuna salad. It helps me be a skinny bitch.

 

Not a sandwich. You lose...

 

Fried egg sandwich, over easy egg with a slice of colby melted on top, on sheepherders. Runny yoke gets all over your hands and face. Awesome! My Grandma used to make these for me when I visited as a kid. Always reminds me of her.

The lowly cheese sandwich...with mustard and mayo (pickles, a decadent option), has been a stalwart of trail nutrition in my world. No matter the cheese, no matter the bread; you glop enough condiment in there, and you have a tasty nutrition bomb that satisfies. I'll take this day and moment to honor the lowly cheese sammich...

Since I just had a bowl of cereal, I lose too

 

but is a hot dog a sandwich?

a burrito?

Perhaps "hot dog" is European for sammich?

And "burrito" is Latin for sammich?

 

Technically, a hot dog meets the definition of sandwich: Meat, or meat-ish substances (not to include soy, tofu, or any other non-food item) surrounded by or embedded in bread.

Burrito, not so much.

If you slap that between a couple pieces of bread it becomes legit.

 

I unwittingly had an Ultimate Double Bacon Cheeseburger from Jack. I didn't know it was National Sandwich day and, frankly, I didn't think much of my "ultimate" burger, but it was 3:00 and I hadn't eaten yet today. Surfed for two hours and rode my beach cruiser back up to the car on no food. Actually didn't notice. Then drove down to Sandy Yago to visit my pops. Grabbed the burger on the way back home.

I had a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw for dinner - still not knowing it was National Sandwich Day. I celebrated hard today and didn't know it!

 

I had a Wish Sandwich.

I lose too. Suffered through BBQ'd Dorado, brown rice and asparagus with a fine Session IPA

 

On a Sunday-go-to-meetin' bun?

 

Turkey and bacon from Corner Bakery. I usually don't like sandwiches, but had one today, also not knowing it's national sandwich day.

 

Childhood memories... government cheese sandwiches with my grandmother. Not grilled... Just a little toasted bread, some butter, and a thick slice of whatever cheese the government handed out in blocks.


And I had a burger at Red Robin yesterday...

 

Im a day late but I had a McMurder breakfast sammich while I wait for the fishing boat to arrive.
