Thanks for that. Done. I expressed my love for motorbikes! :inlove:

What's interesting is I was becoming e-bike tolerant, since there were already so many on the trails and all the local shops are pushing them. BUT then I read about the fraud and the placards. Oh hell no.

I took the survey too. I also do not want to see or deal with the already growing number of ebikes on local trails.

It feels like the survey is more in regard to their coverage of Ebikes.. seeing if there is a reader base. I'm sure we will see an e-bike mag in the future...

If I am not mistaken, I think I have already seen at least one E-bike magazine monthly out on the store racks.

Print media is dead, I hope it takes the ebike down with it.

So, instead of paging through a magazine on the crapper, most are now surfing a magazine website through their tablet on the crapper?

    Done. Submitted. Probably confused them.

I gave answers that pretty much state emtbs are the spawn of Satan and should never be allowed to pollute our trails. That's my opinion.

Then I said they should hell yes accept emtb ads. "I am not going to tell you how to run your business; the market will."

It's my inner libertarian shining through.

I did NOT take the "survey", because as someone with background in marketing research, I can confirm that it is a piece of analytic dung - not worth the epaper it is printed on. In the spirit of fake news - any time I see a survey like this one I run in the other direction, because I know the results will be used to justify a decision that has probably already been made. My favorite research quote "tell me the result you wish, and I can create bad research to achieve it."

That said - it highlights the biggest issue with ebikes: they are an all-or-nothing type of product. Either you let them ALL on the trails, or you have to ban them ALL.

Why? Because no matter what "limits" you place on e-bikes, manufacturers will always push the limits to edge. Then people will release after-market parts to allow you to "mod" your e-bike to go beyond the limits. And it will be impossible as a property manager to tell which is which. Do you really think rangers have the time to micro-analyze every motorized bike on a trail to see if in conforms to power limits? Heck, you already have people applying for handicapped tags to get around trail rules - do you think anyone will balk at applying an after-market battery upgrade to increase their e-bike power to 50% over the legal trail limit?

There isn't an argument you can make for e-bikes that can't also be made for dirt bikes and mopeds. They are the exact same product... just with different packaging. I LOVE a good moped ride. Just keep them off the dirt.

I'm also going to "weed out" this migration to the OC Parks, and place it in it's obvious spot since this is a Bike Mag eBike survey, ha hah!
    So don't panic @Derkderkall ! :)

Done. It's not often I get to use the phrase, "Hater tears are delicious," on a survey.
Most of the questions didn't have answers that accurately reflect my nuanced opinion, but that's often the case with surveys. Also, it's borderline narcissistic of me to assume anyone is truly that concerned about the full extent of my views.
