The sb 130 was revealed today. I guess they switched from inches to mm for the model year. Anyway, 130mm bike, longer , slacker , yada yada yada. I would guess it's the replacement for the 5.5, but with less travel. Buutttttttttttttt, as we are seeing, particularly this year, less travel is going a lot farther on a lot of new releases. I'm guessing it's less travel, but more capable,

If I could only have one bike, this would be a serious contender. People that have demo'd the larger SB150 are raving about how well it climbs and not saying things like "especially considering it's a long travel bike". My conundrum would be Sedona and Hurricane where I prefer a 27.5 bike.

@pperrelle You need to break away from that Ibis fetish and demo this bike. This thing is dead sexy and I know from previous experience that the Switch Infinity suspension is the real deal.

    Why go there?
Progress is adding another bike........ "only one bike" concept is bad!
    Bad for you.
    Bad for the bike industry.
    bad for your LBS.
    Just plain BAD!

I agree, that is why I have 3 bikes in the garage.

My point is that a 120mm bike with superior suspension design will out ride a 150mm bike with poor suspension. Quality over quantity.

Can a bike kill a quiver when it costs as much as two bikes?

I'm sure it's a nice bike. It better be really nice...

Are Yeti still investing in 27.5? Seems like the priority is on the 29 so far...

Well, I've got 3 and I want a flat bar "gravel grinder" type bike. If Canyon would ship me this https://www.canyon.com/fitness/roadlite/ to the USA, I'd already have one. Due to a previous neck injury, drop bars are out.

Derkendall....I guess we'll see if Yeti updates their 27.5 line at all. The Sb5 is the only bike I ever regret selling and I'm on the lookout for a nice used frameset to replace my 5010 next year. I never got along with the SB6 though, probably because the demos were set up in a manner I wasn't too excited about. I think it's time to slacken that one out.

Flatbar gravel bikes are as easy to build as buying a CX/gravel bike and putting MTB bars on. Just use am MTB groupset instead of road, you're done!

Trust me, I thought it was going to be that simple as well but it hasn't been. Some of these bikes use a different type of disc brake and Shimano has told me they advise against using MTB levers with them. I called Ibis to see if they would build up a Hakka in a flat bar set-up and they said that I would need to buy a frameset and do it from the ground up. Trek has a model coming out that I was leaning towards until Shimano shot me down due to the brake issue. On top of everything else, you have to deal with changing the feel/set-up/stack height/etc...when putting flat bars on a drop bar bike. I've been own 20-25 shops easy and not a single one of them has said anything similar to "oh that's easy, we can do that no problem". Most of them are dumbfounded by the the concept actually.

It's in Carlsbad but they don't or won't import the bike I want to the US. I already asked. My nephew is currently stationed in Germany. I'm going to have him order it and then ship it to me.

That's weird. I bought my first commuter bike as a used CX frame built up with a flat bar and riser stem. Eventually put drop bars on it. Now it sits in my garage with an MTB flat bar, but I plan to go back to drop bars again soon. It really is as easy as swapping between road and MTB groupsets and bars. The frame doesn't care what it is dressed with.

Base Yeti? The SB150 is $3800 for the frame alone. I’ll demo the new 130 and if it blows me away, I may entertain replacing my Primer with it in 2019. I’m more likely to buy a leftover or lightly used SB5 frame and swap my parts over from the 5010.
