Ok so I have to do another bathroom in our house. It's demoed to the studs and I have lifted the ceiling, but I hate pulling wire and am looking for any excuse before I dive into the electrical. Because this was a short week, I kept my wife distracted by completing a couple off-projects.

    (1) I made a couple of walnut cutting boards for the kitchen to match our cabinets:

    (2) I completed an art wall in the family room for photos:

    (3) I built a walnut speaker case for our center speaker over the TV. This is one of those mobile TV mounts that you can drop down a couple of feet off the wall so that you can watch movies at lower level, if you so desire. I had to not only build the speaker case, but the hardware to mount it on the TV mount:

I guess tomorrow I am stuck pulling wire :(

Wow, beautiful work! You’d like my hubby, he’s super into wood and metal work. He made a cutting board out of olive.

I was glad she wanted a couple of plain cutting boards of 100% walnut. The last one I made her for a Mother's Day gift was sapelle and sugar maple... and it took me 10x as long :) Though I agree that the design may be a little too busy for some tastes :)

No lathe. Not because I wouldn't like to, but because I don't have enough room in my garage for all the tools! As it is, I can barely squeeze everything in.

I've got another big kitchen project coming up when I finish the bathroom. I'm going to be building a banquette (built-in seating) and possibly a table for the kitchen eating area. There is no shortage of work for me for the next few months, LOL!

Maybe that’s a good thing to be out of space, my husband had a shop built and has now filled it with machinery and tools:thumbsdown: it can get out of control IMO:Roflmao

Yes. With furniture it gets a little out of control. I made a rocking chair for my dad, and with our kitchen remodel I started working with our cabinetry guys to do all the other woodwork (baseboards, fireplace mantle, etc) in matching walnut. Now my wife wants me to do a banquette and kitchen table - and she is already asking about the master bathroom. I don't doubt once I get all that done she will find some other project, LOL! At least I can say we are running out of bathrooms!

My wife likes her curves :) When I built our outdoor kitchen she said she wanted a curved front. I patiently explained to her that curved work is exponentially more difficult than square/rectangular work. She looked at me and said "So?" :)

Your work is exquisite - and as the manly man I am, I don't use that term lightly!

Now I must return to my pedicure and wine spritzer.
