Always down to try some new grub. Thought it would be interesting to see where everyone likes to eat since most are local. I work in Anaheim so have a few spots in the city that we frequent.

-Cortina's Italian Deli - probably my favorite sandwiches ever, but seriously, everything is good. They have a place in Anaheim and a newer location in Orange
-Matiki Hawaiin - great Hawaiin BBQ, I love the beef and their mac salad is awesome.
-Blake's BBQ - hard to beat a Bomber or pulled pork sandwich. Good onion rings. I also really like the Santa Fe Chicken Salad and get it with pulled pork instead of the chicken.
-Rufino's Italian, bring an appetite. They have killer lunch specials.
-The Scratch Room for breakfast, I'm all about the corned beef hash benedict.
-Zito's Pizza, good pizza, calzone and meatball sandwiches.

My buddy recently took my to a Taiwanese place call A&J Restaurant in Irvine. My wife and I love this place. The spicy beef noodle soup is so good and I could probably eat spicy wontons until I passed out.

Hey Joe! I'm also in Tustin.

Agreed on Cortina. My goto is the Russo Special sandwich. I go to Cortina almost every weekend; the Orange location opens weekdays, Anaheim location open on Sat. The Anaheim location also has a deli shop, imo they have the best cannoli. Then I go to Porto's in Buena Park for pastries.

Mariscos Los Corales - shrimp truck in Santa Ana
Kairakutei - my fav ramen shop in Tustin
Habuya - my other fav ramen shop in Tustin
    Barolo Italian - in Tustin

Then locally I LOVE The State restaurant in Redlands. Literally everything on the menu is fantastic, but their poutine is beyond...

I have a whole roster of taco shops I'll hit up depending where I happen to be. My favorite in OC is El Campeon in San Juan Capistrano.

I know wahoo's gets some post ride votes but I end up going there after work almost once a week. Aside from that I have a few brew pubs I rotate around to.

Oh, and since I am sitting here eating a sandwich from there right now - have a killer sandwich shop and mexican place across the street from my office. Someone had it in a TR not to long ago... Corner House in Sorrento Valley.

I'm always down for Wahoo's, just figured I'd list out the lesser known, non-chain or small chain type stuff. I actually really enjoy Wahoos for post ride food...always hits the spot and doesn't feel like a gut bomb.

    Breakfast: Cowgirl Cafe in Norco.
    Lunch: Rodeo Burger in Norco.

I admit, I really like Farmer Boys.

    I guess I don’t have fancy places. I’m admittedly a simpleton.

    • Rubio’s is my favorite after ride chow place.
      • Fish Taco Especial
    • If I’m in Kernville the given is probably Kern River Brewery
    • Near Sky Park is Rocky’s Roadhouse
      • They have an awesome Pastrami Sandwich
    • Castaic is Casa Lupitas
      • I like there Chicken Quesadilla
    • Tom’s Place Cafe in Tom’s Place California on the 395 to Mammoth near Lower Rock Creek Trail
      • They serve a Prime Rib meal deal on Thursday and Saturday nights. Oh my goodness!

There's place called Burger Barn on the outskirts of Bishop on the way to Mammoth. They have a killer blue cheese bacon burger and chocolate shake. It's a hole in the wall.

A&J's is awesome. Used to go there for lunch a lot when I worked in irvine.
The one I miss the most from working there is Vishnu's catering by the airport. It's only open M-F for lunch so I never get to eat it anymore. It's amazing.

I discovered habuya recently.. really good! I like hondaya too.

Blakes Place bbq is close by to local breweries so i've gone there quite a bit over the years. Leadbelly's in placentia has the better bbq though.
I should try Cortinas again.. its close by.

Here's another super good one: Garlic and Chives in garden grove.

I have a weekly craving for Puffy Taco in Whittier. Good thing I drive by it twice a day.

    +1 on Rocky's Roadhouse.

    If you're in Costa Mesa:

Catalina Fish Kitchen (weaned me from Rubios and Wahoo), my goto is off menu steak and calamari burrito. Friday only,
fresh crab cake sandwich, large portion, can be hit and miss at times. Cheap pitcher.
Bear Flag (all 3 locations NB and HB) - for taco tues and prob the best ahi poke (OC Register thinks so too)
Circle Hook - Lido Island, same owner as Bear Flag, so far tried the Fish n Chips (exc fish) and lobster roll (save it
    for plane fare to Boston)
El Chinaco - El Salvadoran for pupusa, plantain and yuca and super friendly service

I'd say the most common place we visit in our 'hood is El Sol. It's good and it's convenient. I brought some picky guests who know authentic Mexican food and they gave it a thumbs up. Another considerable plus is that they always make their drinks strong. Lucky for us, we walk there and stagger back in stead of driving. :D

I love a good sandwich or burger. So my list is all over the place.

Fat Sals, we go the one in Westwood. Great Bahn Mi sandwich
    KRBC in Kernville.
    Sylvesters in Los Osos.
Linda's Seabreeze Cafe in Santa Cruz
    Admiral Rusty in PV.
Rubios in Bako. Had lunch there yersterday.
    Vatos Tacos in Bako
    Zorro's in Shell Beach

Those are places I can think of off the top of my head.

Another good one is El Gaucho Market in Anaheim on State College Blvd. They have an eating area, but can get to go as well. They have killer empanadas and they are like $1.25 each if you get a dozen. Chimichurri is icing on the cake.

Some favorite Mexican Spots along the OC coast:
    Las Golondrinas in SJC
Pedros in SC. Their fish tacos blow Rubios out of the water IMHO
Adolfos in Laguna. Been going there since I was kid.
Chronic Tacos in CDM. The beer battered shrimp burrito is epic
Bear Flag (any location). Everything is good

    Sushi:
    San Shi Go in Laguna
242 Cafe Fusion Sushi in Laguna $$$$
    O Sushi in Soulag

    Sandwiches:
    Gallos in CDM

    Italian:
Modo Mia in the Crystal Cove shopping center
    Sabatinos in Newport
Gina's Pizza. That was a joke but it use to be good back in the day.
    Mimos Italian Village in SD

    Misc:
Laguna Beer Co - tasty adult sport sodas, sandwiches and flatbreads
Point Loma Seafood. The squid sandwich is crave worthy.

    Cuban:
Versailles in LA. If you know then you know. If not then get on it. :whistling:

    Vietnamese:
A few spots in Westminster I can't remember the names of.

    Thai:
    Saffron in SD
    Thai Bros in Laguna

Even better: Felix Cafe in the Orange Traffic Circle (Chapman/Glassell). Florida on Lakewood Blvd/Florence Ave in Downey. And the best of all (according to my native Cuban wife) Moros on Harbor Blvd, just south of Imperial Hwy in La Habra. Absolutely the most auténtico comida Cubana.

Puerto Rican: Hole in the wall "Señor Big Ed's" in Cypress.

I’ve learned to like Mexican, but I’d give it up for a good plate of Arroz con Gondules...

Edit: Big Ed’s food looks awesome on the FB page.
