For those that have been in this trip several times, what is the recommended packing list? I’m trying to convince mama that this is a once in a lifetime (ya right-maybe 3 or 4 times if I can make it happen) opportunity.

    Looking possible...

The event planner and Chief Financial Officer barely batted an eye when I broached the subject. :inlove:  :D:eek:

I can try and dig up the list that Alex sends out to the registered riders, but I’ll try and generalize:
    • Tent
    • Riding gear for three days (I usually bring just warm weather gear, but that bit me in the butt last time. (Hit hail on the last day!)
    • Food for on the trail (Naturally I use Tailwinds, that’s all I take on the trail)
    • Charging unit for you Garmin or Phone (Alex has a mega charger but I bring one just in case)
    • Large Duffel Bag to carry all this in.
    • Camp site Folding chair
    • SAG Bag to grab food replacement at check points
    • After ride clothes after you wipe down at the end of the day
    • Sleeping bag and air mattress
    • Bathroom kit
      • Soap
      • Toothbrush
      • Comb if you need it :p
      • Wash cloth and towel
    • Camp clothes and shoes (not a wardrobe)
    • Headlamp for around camp
I’m sure I’ll think of some other stuff. But it all has to fit in the duffel except the camp chair.

Yikes...142 miles in 3 days. Nyet!! I looked into doing a "tour" here with Hermosa Tours. The difference is it was 4 days, they met you at the next campsite each day with all your gear/food/supplies. Have fun guys not that "fun" is part of 142 miles and 15K of vertical over (3) days. Epic for sure with moments of fun I'm sure, sandwiched with moments of "WTF did I sign up for here"? Or at least that's what my brain thinks.

Yes we drive there on Wednesday(nbd it’s only like 14 hrs at 80mph) ride Thursday thru Saturday and drive home Sunday. That makes it sound a bit easier than it really is but it’s doable like that. You could totally do it and probably make us all look bad in the process. Totally different riding than we have here.

I’ve done this ride 5 times now with Bikerpelli. So if I’m psychotic, then everyone who high fives me at the end saying it was totally epic is psychotic as well!
