^^^Photo is from the top of Ted Williams, not Hodges. Full day ride at Noble would be nice, but not in the cards with family obligations. I figure -20% grade of scarface and glider point dh will have to suffice.

I'm sold. Seems to be fast or faster than SC ht lt & pivot switchblade despite me and trail in less good condition. Very nice on tight switch backs down from glider port.

So you can ride all day, or multiple days, on any trails you want without feeling beat up?

As good as LT bikes are, there’s less to be gained by scrimping on travel. Steep seat tube is more than a fad. Good for climbing and for a consistent cockpit through the dropper stroke. Great for all-day comfort. Savvy mfrs are on it, and players like Pivot are revising geos.

I prescribe to this theory as well. Unless I was racing, "I'll take more travel for $1000 Alex" every time. Obviously within reason. LT bikes are so capable now. Why not have the extra cushion for that surprise drop you never saw coming?

Luckily one of the guys I ride with regularly has a "relationship" (due to him spending too much $$) with a shop down here that lets him demo bikes for free and they're an Ibis dealer. Even they tried to convince my buddy to demo the Ripmo before buying a Ripley LS but he didn't listen. I think he just wanted that ugly Vitamin P color option.

My Mexican dinner the other night definitely had me on the ripmo for a while. Felt good while ripping, but definitely not good for social gatherings.

Still no luck? That's the worst when you want it, you've got the money, and no one can deliver. I hope one pops up for you.

My son got his Ripmo today. Ordered May 21. Size large with the olive accent color like the one @406 demoed. He ordered the low end model to try to get it before summer was over. He got lucky and they upgraded the dropper to a Fox Transfer instead of the KS.
Upgrading to Eagle XO1 drivetrain and Guide brakes. Good thing he has connections.

Upgrading to Guide brakes? From what? Never mind. Just being snarky.

Cool though. What a great bike! Gotta be stoked.

If it came with TLR or whatever that level was, ANYTHING would be an upgrade.

Level T? Not sure. This is the low end NX build. Actually, he is upgrading to Code RSC brake set.

OK, my son finally finished his Ripmo upgrade build and rode some real trails. He has been busy with family obligations and friends visiting from out of town. He wanted to personally do as much of the build as possible. He installed Invisaframe and said it was the most tedious task he has ever done. I bet he will be glad he did it in the future.
    Upgrades
Replaced the NX 11 speed drivetrain with XO1 Eagle
Replaced the Level brakeset with Code RSC
Replaced the Ibis alloy bars with Ibis 800mm carbon.
Replaced the Ibis wheels with Santa Cruz Reserve carbon w/i9 hubs. (Sacrilege for the Ibis purists but he says he could get a good price and wanted the warranty)
    Sram 32t oval chainring.
He had a shop cut the brake lines to size and do the heatshrink cable managment.

Looks good. Can't beat the piece of mind the Santa Cruz wheel warranty offers.

Make sure he adds extra protection on the backside of the mid and lower seat tube and lower front of swingarm area. That area likes to trap rocks and crush them. I thought Invisiframe, some extra clear tape and rubber padding was enough. I was wrong. I got a good sized chip down there. At least it's not a really visible area.

Can you upload a photo of what you tried? I'm having the same issue. Only happens on crushed rock gravel roads, so another reason not to ride those.

Where I could get to and put stuff has been working. It's that lower front of swingarm area that's tough to get into. I guess I could've removed the swingarm, but a bit late now.

Bike is dirty but it helps show where the Invisiframe is.

Guy just came in second on the COT race riding a ripmo...interesting and good looking bag set up, guess I should think about setting mine up for bike packing.

    Amazing.
You should BP on yours, too! His set-up looks tight. Maybe add a daypack for the light, bulky stuff like sleeping bag, ultralight tent and pad, and off you go. No compromise on ride quality that way..
FWIW, I'd use my Ripley in a heartbeat.

Some quick research and he used his Ripley before the Ripmo. Here's a good video:

I should have it rolling by tomorrow. :)

All I did tonight was press in the headset. Other than the XT 4 Piston brakes that I bought new, everything else will come from either the Ripley or my parts bin.
