Yep, I am hoping this was user error. The green light is working again so gonna set it all up from scratch and see how it behaves tomorrow. If I have to drop that 2’ ledge 20+ times to get those jump/drop readings I will.

The suspense is killing me over here. That's a bummer the first test didn't go as planned. Such is technology some times.

    ps
did you get the pun? Suspense as in suspension. I'll see myself out.

Ride #2 - Still having some issues so not sure if I should trust today’s feedback. In the middle of my ride I checked to make sure things were working correctly and got this pop-up message below. I am going to remove the battery and probably put a fresh one in, maybe it was shipped with a bogus battery.

Didn’t have a lot of time to ride so I hit 3B’s to Yucca DH, up goat and down Cactus, up Goat and back down Goat to finish.

Ha! Yesterday it told me to add air today it say let some out. Thinking these aren’t the best indicators with the issues I’ve had. I am wondering if I should be locking my fork on climbs or just those like I usually do and not lock it out. More research to do by the pool this weekend!

After hearing what it takes to calibrate and gather the necessary data for this to tune suspension I had an idea. I reached out to SkyPark and asked if their ride shop could get a few and rent them out. Seems like the perfect setting to quickly get it tuned effectively. Maybe even figure out ideal levels for both a playful and efficient settings in a single afternoon. Hopefully they take it into consideration.

Mmm data served fresh first thing in the morning :geek:. Too bad about the battery issue but at least some information was acquired. I hadn't realized the shock wiz accounted for both LSR and HSR. Very cool! Looking forward to seeing what the final outcome produces. I expect graphs and a lengthy power point presentation.

Been out of town on vacation since my last update and probably won’t ride until Saturday morning if I’m lucky.

I’m just as anxious to see how this thing works after more rides.

Have (2) separate riding buddies running them at the moment. One went from a score of 76 on day 1 and up to 88 after some changes. The other had a score of 72 after ride 1 but is the stubborn type and refuses to add a token/spacer as suggested by the Wiz. He made the other changes and only went up to a 78. He'll have them on the bike in Wrightwood this weekend which *appears* to be his type of terrain.

Unfortunately no, been 3 weeks since my last ride due to work, family and just recently a twisted ankle that is just now getting better to where I should get back out next week. As long as I’m not pulling more 12 hour days at the office. Sucks getting a new toy and not playing with it.

I thought it was cool until i saw the price tag, $199 for a pair. Air pressure sensors on my car don't cost more than $30 each and they are built burlier and provide the same function.

Update: I don’t have an update because I still haven’t ridden, longest hiatus in 4 years and won’t have a chance to ride until July 7th at the earliest. I’m thinking the shock wiz cursed me! Happy 4th.. I’ll be unplugged for awhile.

I havent read through this thread yet so if I repeat any comments already made, please forgive me.

My riding bud Dave has been using his Shock Wiz while we have been riding up in Big Bear. Very interesting what it does. But its suggestions vary depending on the type of terrain its rolling on.

What I mean is, lets say you take your time rolling through the gnar on your favorite technical trail and get it dialed in nicely. Then you ride on some smooth XC type ST and it tells you tell make changes that would make it perform unfavorably for through the gnar.

Seems a lil frustrating. For those who ride just one bike for everything, how do you find a happy medium?

You tell it what type of riding you do, you can actually change the styles and it will change the recommendation.

Do you actually think you can set-up a bike to do both gnar and smooth without any changes?

Maybe you need to take notes and re-set when you do different terrain. Or wait till the end of the day for the overall score.

Without sounding like a smartass, perhaps a time will come when our suspension has “smart” self adjusting tuning. You go through the Shock Wiz program and enter the settings per terrain in the smart fork or smart shock micro computer and then it reads where you are via GPS and presets your suspension for you automatically per your preset choices.

The Shock Wiz thing makes this seem neccessary...

That would be nice. I doubt I'll live long enough to see it. The ShockWiz seems best suited for people who generally ride the same type of terrain all the time or like me, have a a few bikes and ride a particular bike depending on where I'm riding. I used the Wiz on my Intense Tracer and specifically set the suspension up for riding in fast, chunky conditions like Greer Ranch. As I was setting it up, I rode as aggressively as I could; really diving hard into corners and landing jumps/drops with a little more force than normal. It took me 3-4 rides before I had all green lights on the Wiz app and to be honest, I thought it felt a tad stiff for my tastes originally but I left it alone anyway.

I took the Tracer to Whistler and it rode fantastic. I rode it in the bike park where most people are riding a DH bike (I rented a 2018 Santa Cruz V10 myself one day) and the suspension seemed perfect. I enjoyed riding my Tracer immensely more than the DH bike I demo'd. Outside the park, I'll never break any records with my spinning style but the bike climbed better than I expected due to the suspension changes I made.
