Sara....not quite. It took her a good 6 months to heal up fully.

She stopped riding as fast and is happier to cruise these days but she still loves riding. Then again, the accident was almost 20 years ago.

Smart lady, I’m glad she’s back out there! I’m dying to get back in the trails...but I know these things happen for a reason. The clavicle is pretty quick to heal. You must have amazing trails in Australia!

Yikes! that was nasty break @mountaingirl sara ! Did mine in a similar way about 9 years ago and ended up with a bonus knuckle like mtbbikej's.:gag: You'll be back out shreddin the gnar in no time with your new hardware. The clavicle snapper seems to be an epidemic lately. :eek:You're like the 4th or 5th person (includding myself) I've heard of doing it in the past couple of months. :bang: Hope PT and the recovery goes well!

Thanks Taylor! Yeah, I’ve been hearing of more injuries lately too! What the heck!?
I actually got out for a good 6 mike technical hike today and felt really good! The crash happened two wks ago tomorrow, so I think that’s good? It’s the noggin that’s giving me trouble from the concussion, kinda spaced out sometimes:rolleyes: But I’m told that takes the most time to heal.
    Thanks again! Happy riding

Welcome the the cyborg club! I got my 6” plate back in 1996 with guidance to have it removed after a year. When I heard I’d have to take it easy after having it removed I just kept it in and really don’t have any regrets in doing so. Things like tennis and golf hurt more than mountain biking so really not an issue 20+ years later.

I broke mine hucking it at Bear Mtn on that white slippery stuff going bigger than I should have. Luckily a plate adds instant reinforcement so I was able to go on a trip to Jackson Hole 2 weeks after my surgery and was out on the slopes like nothing was wrong.

My pet worm is fading

Really!? Crap...it’s gotten me a few times now, obviously this one being the worst. I try to time my pedal strokes when it gets technical but:eek:...any other advice is welcome!

@mountaingirl sara Right on! Good hear about getting your "hike" on? o_O:laugh: Didn't realize you concussed as well. That will definitely take some time to get back to normal. At least you're staying positive which is tough in these type of circumstances! Keep it up.

I almost dislike my Remedy for this reason. I cant pedal up anything technical without hitting the cranks. Its wonderful for flying downhill, though. Timing your pedal strokes is exactly what you have to do so good going!

My hardtail doesnt suffer this ailment much since there is no rear suspension to compress. That is part of the reason why I prefer to ride it.

OTH, while it will go through or over or down most anything the Remedy can, it goes a little slower due to the lack of rear suspension.

Maybe ill stiffen yo the rear suspension a bit more and lock it out on the climb..that’ll help I think.
I’ve done the HT thing..I’m over it:stop: But I will say, like you, I never had these issues on it either.
Well, here’s to pedal strikes..(pretend that’s a middle finger). Let’s hope this is the worst of it!

Everyone around here seems to know Fadi... Speaking of which, I left my Chameleon with the 27.5 dropouts just to give it the 5mm extra clearance that the lower 29er dropouts would lose.

As an anti-inflammatory, CBD stops 90% of my wife's headaches, and she has almost been able to quit taking acetaminophen. That's a big deal for her as she pretty much was taking it several times a day previously. Plain CBD doesn't do too much for me, although I don't get headaches very often. CBD + THC 1:1 seems like it does, but again, not enough data.
