Howard Stern Show

Seems like I’m not alone here on being a fan. I remember when my dad had tapes of his shows and used to listen to him on regular radio. When my wife’s car came with Sirius back in 2011 I started listening again and got a subscription for my car as well.

I favor the prank calls and whack pack type stuff over the serious interviews but he does a good job at getting people to open up. Funny that a lot of people who don’t listen to the show think he’s some vile dude when he’s actually quite conservative and reserved in his own life but open for a good laugh and discussing things people shy away from. Just because a guest is raunchy or bizarre doesn’t mean he is, it makes for good radio and he’s built an empire on that. I actually agree with a lot of his views and like how he is not tied to any political side or agenda.

Anyways, what do others like or dislike about him and/or the show?

The recent Snoop Dogg interview was perfection... Gwyneth Paltrow about put me to sleep. I listen a bit every day.
I'm really tired of Ronnie's adventures.

 

I have been a fan since 2000. Miss Artie, but like the show these days with all the bits/prank calls. Only listen to interview segments about 25% percent of the time, most people I don't care about. But when it is someone interesting like Snoop Dog they are really good. Put all other interviews to shame.

I find him fairly juvenile, but the girl on the speaker in the movie? OMG!

 

When was the last time you listened to him?

 

Last time I heard him, I was impressed. And, sadly, I liked him as a judge on whatever stupid show he was judging. America's Got Talent?

I think he's way smarter than his image.

 

Has he mellowed out?

Haven't listened since the days of KLSX.

 

I think the show is the best it's ever been. But I do miss Artie's laugh.

 

I hate Howard Stern, so I listen every day.

 

He's never made me laugh. But he sure knows how to make money. Gotta respect that.

 

I've been listening to Howard since the late 90s. I remember his E show being the next best thing to porn when I was a in HS. He has definitely mellowed out since being on satellite radio. I guess having the freedom to do whatever he wants without consequences or being ground breaking made him find his true self. That and hundreds of hours of psycho-therapy.

I'm not a talk radio fan. And when I drive i usually do in silence or occasionally with music.

I did listen to howard a few times maybe 20-30 years ago, wasn't my thing. My friends loved him though.
