I just misunderstood the original intent was all.

I'm one month into my new bike, already bent the derailleur hanger and bent a wheel, not on the same trip. That doesn't include scrapes...

    (I crash a lot)

It's the second link you posted. Although that is anXX1, it's the bigger of the two pulleys.
Thanks for posting this! Sixty Nine Fikkin' Dollars!

As mentioned, I have had to replace two sets of SRAM X9 pulleys after they split in half. I blame the holes built into them.
    Failure holes!

Don't know about boost but on a 142 rear using 49 wolf tooth bailout, my nx derailer sits really close to spokes. I imagine an odd hit with pedal force may place the jockey wheel close enough to hit the spoke.

    Next SRAM episode....
    SRAM X01 Clutch...
I Google searched for like an hour on how to adjust it. I don’t think there is one piece of literature on how to adjust a SRAM Clutch other than Forum opinions.
I said that cause now @littlewave will find it because he is the best dam research guy for facts on the net I know!

Is it really as simple as using a Torx to remove the cover and tightening the 5mm Allen hole in that silver thingy clockwise?

It's that simple on a Shimano RD clutch so I don't see why not.

I am having derailleur & pulley problems on my Eagle as well. From what I researched, you cannot adjust the clutch if you have a 2.1 or 3. They stuck an unremovable pin in there and you can crack the housing if you try. The version # is on the little black plastic cover. Earlier versions are adjustable.

Non adjustable, from everything I know.

I've personally never experienced any Clutch related issues before. Several Eagle and several 11s setups. Only used on Shimano clutch (GRX on my gravel), no problems there either.

Well mines a floppy mess!:cry:

So it may not be adjustable, but is it replaceable? Otherwise, what’s the point of a removable cover? :coffee:

@Mikie looks like you can adjust a 2.1 or 3.0 SRAM, but you'll need to deal with the pin that prevents the bolt from turning first. Looks like you can either drill out the pin, or wiggle the clutch bolt while pulling the pin out. Once the set pin is out, you should be able to adjust the clutch bolt, and some people have suggested adding some loctite or a new set screw to keep the clutch bolt from moving once you've adjusted it. This is not SRAM endorsed, but if you mess up the worst case is a new derailleur which you would probably need to buy anyways if you didn't attempt to fix your clutch issues.

Looking at pics online, I don't see the pin for type 3 derailleurs, so you would need to verify that there is in fact a pin preventing the clutch bolt from turning for the above to be relevant. It's possible they now use some other method to prevent turning the clutch bolt.

Riding on easy fashizzle with Tom and Cathy today the chain came off twice. There is no clutch on my SRAM XO1 RD.

I’m not positive but pretty sure I officially hate SRAM. Good for them for the innovation of Eagle 12 speed drive trains. I love Grip Shift too!

SRAM rear derailleur... not so much.
The 2.1 clutch has the pin preventing the ability to remove the clutch cap. I have a 3.0. There is no pin. The cap unscrews readily............ WHY????

What’s the point of an access cap unless it is giving you access to do something. Inside is a 5mm hex. Tough to spin clockwise, easy to spin counterclockwise. Sounds like a clutch. It also rotates the pulley assembly. Clockwise does nothing, just tough to ratchet. Spinning it counterclockwise does nothing, just easier to ratchet. Made the mistake of removing the pulley assembly. . . . . . CLICK! Uh oh...

Reassembling the pulley assembly back on to the clutch, now nothing works. I’m assuming the spring detached inside the clutch housing and there is no way to get to it. For the life of me I can not figure out how to disassemble the clutch to even look.

There is no info on the net from SRAM related to their clutch system. Nothing but forum half ass speculations. In fact, when you go to SRAM’s part assembly diagrams they do not explode the clutch housing at all. WTF!

That chain should NEVER have fallen off with the terrain we did today. I'll bet you can buy an SLX or XT shifter and derailleur and keep the Sram cassette and cure that problem and still be money ahead...

I'd take that bet... I have the SLX 12 speed derailleur on the Hightower, and I spent quite a bit of time on Friday getting it apart, cleaning it, and getting it back together. It's only a couple months old. The clutch was not clutching at all...

I am not hopeful that the mechanism will last long term. There is a weak point in the design... A small plastic "bridge" behind the adjustment screw. It has to be in the exact right position with the exact right tension. I'm pretty sure it's what slipped in the first place. I'd be willing to bet it slips again...
