Yup, we did this. 5 Oaks was really fun. Definitely some work done on that trail without dumbing it down or out-sloping it. We then climbed Rock-It. I've only attempted that climb 3 or 4 times, and I actually like it. I have never made it up the long rock garden without having to stop once or twice, either for poor line choice or for red-lining my heart/lungs/legs. I tried to go up the gut today, but couldn't quite put it together without stopping.

Then it was a beautiful run down Car Wreck. I have added this trail to my regular rides far more frequently, and it shows. More confident and more speed (where warranted). I still dab after the wrecked car, ducking up and under the trees. :( Sometimes it's just a mental let-down after being elated to make it to the car in one piece. Shawn hauled the mail, as usual. Craig made it down alive too.

Up Mathis to Meadows to check out the handiwork. It was soooo fun today. The dirt was incredible. The places where ruts were filled in, new berm(s) were installed or old berms were freshened helped a lot. There were a lot of awkward drainage humps, but I think they will pack out. I went last in our little train of three because I intended to stop and take photos of the weird drains, but I was having too much fun to bother.

The time-away meters were about to expire in my two companions, so I said adios and headed up Cholla for Rock-It. So much fun. Wheeeee!

I forgot to turn off my Runtastic app, so it appears I climbed 3517' and had a max speed of 63.4 MPH. I am guessing I climbed about 2500 of that on my bike., and although I was pretty fast on Rock-It, I don't think I hit 63.4 mph there. That may have been in my car.

@shawndoh is great to ride with - he is fast in both directions and patient. He loves to ride. @Cougar on the other hand... J/K Craig is always fun to ride with because he loves it!

I think I was the first guy on meadows today. It was very fun!

Rock-It is definitely not a steep climb, but there are some sections that are very challenging to keep your momentum.

Ya, that was my first time climbing Rock-It. I didn't even try climbing the two major rock gardens, but it was otherwise a decent climb, surprisingly enough. It was neat seeing it from that direction after going down it so many other times. I wasn't my strongest out there today, but the Meadows improvements were really nice!

Yes and no. It was busier than I think we were expecting for a non-mainstream holiday Monday... but it was still no Sat/Sun. The most traffic we ran into was going down Meadows - 2 groups of bikers and a hiker group.

Actually, I was going to comment that you seemed pretty strong today. Right on my wheel all the way back from Meadow, and ahead of me for a while on both the Rock-It and the Mathis climb. And props for "sessioning" that drop on 5-Oaks.

The right fork at the beginning after the V-ditch? Nice! Hug that left side upon landing or else you're really going for a ride!

5 oaks, Stairs , Car wreck, and T and A... that's some serious downhill... Rock city...
I promised myself if I feel like I need to put on pads, then I'd better not bother... so I can ride those trails only ONE day at a time!

Nope. Over 3000'! But, pavement climb to 5-Oaks, and hike-a-bike back up half of Stair Steps. It's Philips Rd. that tries to drain me of everything I have left - before pushing up Stairs.

We did this. Shawn, Chase, Philip and me with a cameo appearance from @tbarnesarc. I was there at 7:45. That would be the only time all day that they DIDN'T have to wait for me.

I'll report in "I Rode My Bike Today."
