WTB - Very Cheap Bike for My Mother

    My mother lives in Tucson Arizona. This has advantages... I can visit her and ride Mt. Lemon for one. This also has disadvantages... She knows, that I know a thing or two about bikes.

    Long story short, she's visiting me in 2 weeks and asked me to find her a paved bike path bike. I want to spend as little as possible because this is a pipe dream and she isn't really going to ride it.

    LMK if you have something that may fit the bill. She's about 5'6" ish.

    Is she asking you to buy a bike or does she just want something to ride while she's in town? IF she just wants something while hse's here you can probably rent a bike off spinlister.com for about $20.

    that is for sure my fall back. If I don't find anything I like on CL over the next week I'm going to go that route. I figured i'd start here.

    Performance has a number of Diamond Back bikes for around 350. Not sure if that's too much...but come on...that's your mom. I'm sure she deserves something nice:D. Plus there are a number of Performance stored in AZ...so if there ever is an issue with he bike...there is a place to take it.

    I had that twinge when I read the thread title. It makes no sense to break the bank for a non-enthusiast, but I can't see getting my mom the cheapest bike possible. I know I wouldn't be thrilled to ride that bike, so why would my mom? Sorry for spending your money, Eb. :unsure:
