I was really interested in doing this...but didn't.

 

It was worth the drive (an hour), and the price was right! I like riding with big groups... I'm really into the festive bike ride thing (see the CicLAvia thread!).
But I think that for anyone driving out there, adding on STT and Luge would make it a lot more of a destination ride and worth the drive.

Theres usually a good turnout, for a good cause and someone normally has a blowup doll strapped to their back.

 

Totally on my radar! I did a similar STR B* ride, first time up there and loved it!

 

Here go a few from Saturday

 

Nope. 80% of the actual time I am on the trails out there, I'm alone or with my 1-4 riding buddies. There are people all over the park that I (we) encounter briefly, but an actual large group functioning as one is a whole different (and annoying) beast. I know you are mostly joking to evoke a response. I obliged.

I'm glad you all are much more social creatures than I am. I actually get physical symptoms merely looking at a group that large. I can take the microphone and speak to an audience of 10,000, but riding in large groups is a huge source of physical anxiety for me.

 

If you want solitude, climb Harding!!

I just climbed Harding, and there were trucks at the top! And people!

 

And we saw 2 other riders. There goes the neighborhood.

 

^^^^That pic above of 4 Corners scares me as well. That is just waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too many people.

 

It wasnt that bad, it only looked like that for maybe 30 minutes, everyone was just congregating at the top of Mustard, and the trails were empty if you kept going.

 

I spy orange and neon yellow helmets that I know in the top right of the photo!
Dude in left foreground on the Intense is rocking my style though.
