Aaaaaacccckkk! Now that's crazy talk. Gotta eat lunch at Wahoos when finished, and they don't open until 10:30 - maybe 11:00. I am actually good with an 8:00am roll time. We will be done by 10:30-10:45 unless you are feeling the need for extra climbing. It really won't be all that hot.

7:45 meet time OK with you?

I was hoping the 7:am start time would stick!!! I've got a 10:am tee time and so the 8:am start would be too tight. Hope to be part of the next one!!!

@doublewide I wish I could like that post 1000 times! Coincidentally, our little group today was talking about you and your funny posts, especially the ChrisPBacon days.

Surprised there's no ride report yet. I'll start. 7 of us met at Wahoos. @Unbreakable was so anxious to do this ride, he arrived at 7:15. I arrived at 7:38. The gang was almost all assembled. Off we go, right at about 8am as planned. @Faust29 @Danimal @Cougar @littlewave @Cornholio @Unbreakable and me.

Nothing really remarkable to report. Borrego was crowded with hikers. @Faust29 sprinted up the Cattle Pond hill like a scalded monkey. Varying degrees of climbing speeds among the 7 of us. One guy barfed. One guy cramped. One guy had a great fall (but did not break). I will let them chime in as to who did what.

I think Bill from Austin had a great time, and that was the objective. He was initially intimidated about the climbing from what he had read and had heard, and from looking out at the mountains yesterday, but he did just fine on the climbs. He got on my wheel for one of the steeper sections of STT and stayed there to the top. Dan and Craig were strong on that section too, and led the pack, along with Steve (Faust) who was just playing with us the whole time.

@Cougar seemed especially motivated to climb today. On two or three occasions, Steve noticed that Craig had got way out front, so he said "rabbit" and chased him down. I was moderately strong on the climbs for me - I had my moments of competence, and my moments of laboring.

The Luge had a ton of slow, cautious riders, so we waited at the top for quite a while, I finally decided to lead out - knowing that I would be coming up on some riders at some point. My ice cream bell did the trick though, and all 5 or 6 of the riders I caught heard me in time to safely pull over.

On the way back through Whiting, some unhappy hiker decided he had to video us riding, so he could turn it over to authorities to show them how awful mt. bikers are. I do believe we each slowed, and politely said good morning! Won't that be incriminating!

Leisurely discussion while changing out of riding clothes, then Wahoos at 11:00 am, sans Craig and Brett, who needed to earn family points.

Great day. Great group. Thanks lads! And see you in November @Unbreakable Bill!

It was a great showing from the crew here at IMTBTrails to welcome Unbreakable to one of the best local trails in the area.

There isn't much to add from what Chris says above. I didn't have a great climb up Mustard or Modjeska Grade, but when I hit STT something just clicked in my legs and I was out in the front of the pack and they held for the remainder of the ride. I just did this loop on Monday, and I was 2:22 faster from Cooks to Modjeska grade turn off (as an example).

Have no fear though, my legs aren't infected by J's influence - I'm not suddenly turning into a climber, I set PR's on both the Luge (sub 4 minutes, wooo!) and Cactus downhill runs today. It was just a good day out on the bike once I got into the groove.

It was a really fun group to be out riding with, and a pretty basic but challenging loop in both directions. Glad we were able to show @Unbreakable a great time!
