Just as the title says we need a few seasonal drivers. If you have a clean driving record and are interested let me know and I will refer you. It has been confirmed that 2-3 drivers will be hired after the first of the year. It is very uncommon for them to hire off the street so if you've ever wanted to drive for us now's the time to apply.

A basic class C license is ok?
Just asking to satisfy my curiosity

    Yes.
Straight from the horse's mouth. Actually my supervisor sent me this.

    Seasonal driver:
    21 or older
    Clean driving record
    Commercial driving experience

Commercial meaning delivery experience. You do not need anything other than a Class C license.

I wish Amazon would hire some real delivery drvers!
UPS has always been the best out there. @UPSed is a fine example.
FedEx is showing some wear and tear, with some of their drivers looking haggard and wearing worn out uniforms.
DHL lost it years ago, even before DeutchePost ran them into the ground.
But Amazon! I just had a guy get out of an overloaded Toyota Corolla, wearing a t shirt and flip flops, throw my package up the flight of stairs, bounced it off the wall, tumbled it down the stairs, then look at it, and flip flop away...
I guess I shouldn't expect much from someone who's basically working for slave wages.

I wish Amazon would contract with USPS or UPS and just let the professionals handle it.

They do, but its mostly just Air packages now, Amazon volume has never decreased and 2 new UPS hubs in the Inland Empire have sprung up near Amazon sites in the last 2-3 years because of said volume increase. Since there is just one or sometimes two Amazon centers per city now, they dont need to have products travel as far, the reason why 80% of the stuff I order is delivered by a Prime driver.

Some of the Amazon drivers crack me up. It's like they literally have no training. Packages left on wet lawns, sidewalk or wherever else they feel like tossing it.

    Thanks for the kudos @rossage!

I've had good conversations with a couple of them. They were both retired dudes, doing it as a part time job. Both said they loved it and it was a great way to augment their retirement.

One option I have not thought of. Deliver part-time while collecting my pension.

Both were pretty sincerely stoked about the job. They manage the days for their schedule and to not trip over the social security limits.

This is where the old adage "You get what you pay for" becomes apropos...

I get very few UPS deliveries but those I have had have been good experiences. Jenson USA uses OnTrac (at least to deliver to me) and they're on time, undamaged, and no issues. Can't ask for much else.

That ^^ sounds too much like work to do that in retirement. I'm gonna go for a consulting gig and gouge the taxpayers.

55598E8E-B454-483C-AD28-74C63322301D.jpeg This was last year’s holiday season. The guy took the initiative to decorate his cargo cart even though it was attached to his bike via paper clips and duct tape.

474F43E6-8F31-40E0-AC67-D71D5DF0F423.jpegThe rig fell apart in front of my house; luckily, I had a spare 9mm rear axle bolt for the dude. That guy had the best gig in my book.

Yeah. The bikes get tossed into the trailers with all of the packages everyday. They get pretty beat up. I usually have a couple at my house and give them a once-over every weekend.

We had the contract (owners girlfriend was in management) to tune up all the UPS bikes for the Christmas season, 30 Giant Talon bikes.
