UPS Maintenance Mechanics needed

I saw a huge banner this morning while leaving the facility. As the title states UPS needs journeyman mechanics. You can apply at <a class="postlink" href="http://www.upsjobs.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.upsjobs.com</a>.

And in case you are wondering I'm sure the pay and benefits are great.

Journeyman is the skill level. It's basically one that doesn't need supervision for routine tasks. A level up from apprentice, which would need significant on-the-job training and certification tests to be passed. But if you're a mechanic with professional experience with a reputable organization, you should already know that. I gotta sympathize with the current mechanics as it sounds like they're undermanned and probably getting whipped to keep up, lacking any announcements that they're scaling up/expanding operations (that and they'd likely need a decent ratio of all skill levels, and other openings if they were scaling up).

I actually looked into this on the UPS website and all I found listed was for a equipment maintenance mechanic needed in Corona. sounds like possibly working on conveyor systems and other equipment. Didn't sound like they were looking for auto techs, which is what my first thought was reading the OP

I have added a new Forum called Job Board to the Shop till you Drop Family down near Classifieds. I am moving this to that Forum so Job Opportunities have a good home as they should.

Not your fault! no worries. i just read "mechanic" and automatically think cars

 

Same here as our hub has one of the largest automotive facilities in the region.
