Having done this several times I don't normally post a ride report for Epic Repeats, but it was awesome! So I will toss some words and the latest pics at you and reference previous write ups. :)

I had Saturday free but did not know where I was going to ride. I prefer to ride local but often can not get folks to come up my way to ride. It's such a shame as there is so much more "Epic" than the campground slide called McGill Trail (here is where I picture that little whistles that clowns use).

So Warren out of Fullerton says he might be coming up to work out in the Fort Tejon area and asked if I wanted to ride on Saturday...Duh!

Friday I'm driving home from work and Cathy calls me on the cell and says a strange man has pulled up in the driveway and wanted to talk to me. Turns out...It's Warren! Done for the day and has ice cold beer with him? Ahhhhh Warren!

I get home we shoot the breeze, decide we would get a much better ride in by waiting until tomorrow (Saturday). So he kicks it at the Holiday Inn Express over in Lebec. I pick him up in the morning and we shuttle to the usual drop point which is in Lake of the Woods at the Lockwood Valley turn off (it's where all the DH'ers go for pizza at Mike's Pizza after a hard day of coasting down McGill 6 times  , I'm just kidding guys! We actually now HAVE DH'ers on the site :D ).

We gear up...we go ride. Gotta say, the weather was just a little nippy at first at 8:15am. Seemed to go away once we started climbing. The remainder of the day was AWESOME weather with fantastic company.

Warren thought there was potential to die on Trail 120 based on Hill^billy scaring him, but he didn't. In fact, Warren handled Trail 120 very well!

Here is another Ride Report from several weeks ago with a LOT more details: http://www.imtbtrails.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1374

Picking up the New Warren at the local Lebec Holiday Express.

From the Holliday Inn parking lot you can see Frazier Mountain. We will be traveersing from right to left (West to East)
    IMG-20141004-02447.jpg

Climbing up from the Lockwood Valley side. Mount Pinos to the left, Cuddy Valley to the right.
    IMG-20141004-02448.jpg

You just GOT to go to the Look Out Tower even though it is out of the way by a couple miles.
    IMG-20141004-02449.jpg

    IMG-20141004-02450.jpg

Bagging the peak of Frazier Mountain at 8013 feet of elevation.
    IMG-20141004-02451.jpg

You just Gotta have your pic with the sign. That's the Tehachapi Mountains in the background, also known as the Southern Sierra's.

    IMG-20141004-02452.jpg

The Antelope Valley. On a clear day you can see Boron and well beyond...
    IMG-20141004-02453.jpg

"Been riding all morning my hands wet on the bars..." ...Radar Love.
    IMG-20141004-02454.jpg

What's left of the poor old tired Look Out Tower.
    IMG-20141004-02455.jpg

Right between the trees is Pyramid off in the distance. A view would not normally get.
    IMG-20141004-02457.jpg

The epicness of this ride are the insane views. Antelope Valley to the left, Quail Lake off to the slight right, and the hills that's home to none other than Golden Eagle off to the right.
    IMG-20141004-02458.jpg

Another view of Pyramid Lake off in the distance...
    IMG-20141004-02459.jpg

Interstate 5 weaving through Gorman and Hungry Valley State Off Road Vehicle Park center right.
    IMG-20141004-02460.jpg

Dead center behind the rees is what is left of Castac Lake. Not to be mistaken for Castaic Lake. Castac is a large pond compared to Castaic and lies on Tejon Ranch property. There has been talk of changing the name to Lake Tejon. Tehachapi's dead center in the background.

    IMG-20141004-02461.jpg

Close to the end, one of the last switchbacks, loose and sandy. Fire and lack of rain.
    IMG-20141004-02464.jpg

    IMG-20141004-02466.jpg

Talk about brutal! The fire roads sneeking back out of Hungry Valley, steep and deep sand making for major effort when it is already hot and we are tired.
    IMG-20141004-02467.jpg

Views looking out over Hungry Valley. The low High Tension Lines crackling and making the hair on your arms stand up.
    IMG-20141004-02468.jpg

Back at the Holiday Inn Express. The New Warren wheels must get disassembled to fit in the front seat.

    IMG-20141004-02469.jpg

Another successful day of kicking Frazier Mountains lonely azz. There is always an Epic if you look hard enough!
