Whoa man! I had a long paragraph of political rhetoric about to be posted here, and I actually talked myself out of it! Ha! Can you imagine the nonsense!!? Anyway, having said that [I have not said that], my current taco joint is cash only. Despite my suspicions, I still patronize the joint because I am an opportunistic taco lover. I also love the taco making people. One of the kitchen staff shares my name but as a feminine noun. Sexist it may be, but since tacos are not made with one's genitals, Dionisia can remain a female and I a male, and my tacos won't know the difference.

Howzbout when a roadie tells his group "I'll catch up," and slams on the binders to tell you and your two friends in mid-conversation on the shoulder, all complete strangers to said roadie, last week's political drama that you knew already (replete with his own strong opinion)? Hearing that dude beat his gums uninvited really rendered him a selfish idiot. And, against the tenets of IMTBT, I'm not attacking that issue, I'm attacking that idiot for being an idiot.

I know it's an election year. Are you tough enough to keep the conversation to bikes, tacos and stuff that won't divide us? Dio has shown it can be done.

Well it wasn't Tuesday......

But I did have tacos for dinner out at Sierra Peak last night:

 

I wondered where you would set up... I thought about getting up on high ground, but I needed to man the grill for a horde of hungry teenagers!

 

Yup, This was the 4th year we headed up there.

Dinner tonight at new Mexican place here in Alhambra. Going against the tide of Chinese restaurants around here....

 

Now I've seen everything... Made some turkey hash and the kid turned it into a taco! You really can stuff anything into one of those shells.

 

Early dinner at the new Spanglish Kitchen. Muy bueno!

 

The Latin Empire stretches far and wide and transcends ethnocentric menus. Mexicans make some of the best Chinese food this side of the Rio Grande.

Based on an episode of a kids show, we had spaghetti tacos once. Surprisingly, they were pretty good.

 

Straight from iCarly... We had them, too.

Jennifer makes killer tofu tacos. A few weeks ago she wanted to experiment and made some veggie tacos. My first thought was WTF? After a couple of bites I was at a loss for words. At first she was upset because I had a blank stare on my face. Then I told her there were no words to describe how good they were. She is such an amazing creative person in the kitchen.
