    Hi Guys,

I'm new in this forum so I don't know if this is the right place to post a stolen bike. My bike got stolen this morning in front of my house. I had it on my roof rack with 2 cable locks on it but they manage to cut it off. It's a Niner EMD Grey color and a size large. I attach a picture of it. I already filed a police report so if anybody sees it, please contact the orange county sheriffs department. I had been monitoring craigslist in case somebody tries to sell it there. Thank you.20140429_191358.jpg

I'll keep an eye out, but please don't trust any cable or lock to deter scum. It usually isn't effective, as you've no doubt realized.

Cables last about 2.5 seconds against any decent cutter.

On a car, in front of a house, and two locks... that's brazen. Such a good looking bike, hope you can recover it!

Please be sure to post on https://bikeindex.org

That SUCKS!!!! I hate bike thieves. I hope you recover your property. It'll take longer to recover your sense of trust, security and faith in people.

It saddens me what human beings are capable of - so disheartening.

I hope you get it back in one piece.

Sorry to hear that. Was it stolen in the early morning (dark) or light out? Good reason to break somebody's legs.

I was watching a video on bike locks and thieves on youtube (sorry don't have the link) and the guy said the thieves are sometimes major hard druggies and sell the bikes same day for super cheap so they can score hits same day/night. Not sure if that's true or not but he also recommended bike insurance. Which I've never even heard of. Good luck.

I had my alarm company wire my roll up garage door to our alarm system. If the garage goes up, the alarm goes off immediately. I zip tied my garage door pully and my bike is also locked to the wall. If they can get my bike, it will take luck and a lot of effort. Oh, the exterior of our house is well lit up at night to make our house the least desirable place to hit in the neighborhood. Do everything you can to protect your stuff.

Never leave your bike unattended if it is attached to your car.
