My first year without a DH bike since 2009. That said, you don't really need one at Fontana, but they sure help survive mistakes on the pro/expert courses.
No CX events?
Why were you on that course??
I saw DH, XC, and Enduro in every date range.
Did they do them in the past? I think last year was my first time racing there.
No CX is not mountain biking......sorry.
Oops. Damn pre-coffee dyslexia. I read it ac XC. Thankfully, I'm up to 5 espressos and a cup of green tea, so the words are clearer now.
Somebody mentioned riding on Brownfield or Super Fund sites in the near future. Well, here you go. http://www.jurupavalley.org/About-The-City/Stringfellow-Acid-Pits-Superfund-Project
Stay on the north face at Southridge.
I rode the Kenda version of the course on my old CX commuter with 38mm commuter tires, does that count?
I know the XC and one of the gravity events conflict on the same day, so I can't do both. I'd like to race DH and XC, but XC gets priority.
For those who do not know, you should research past DH results sheets and look for Mark Hermann in Expert class... Just sayin'!
Pretty cool and pretty creepy website, in the sense that they have all this info on racers... Just put a name in the search box.
Here's Chris' results for his Southridge career. He needed to come play with me in the expert class....
And to be fair, mine.
Starts this weekend.
I was going to do XC and DH, but I think I'm going to have to work Sunday's for a while
Enduros/Super Ds are Saturday, as are the XC races. DH practice on Saturday is actually more fun than racing, and it's cheap ($10 for required shuttle access). I never rode the shuttle. Line was always too long. Just pushed/rode up from the road crossing.
I race XC there, that's the opening round of the ProXCT series so the Winter Series is great practice (you'll see several real pro riders out there for that reason). But I want to have some fun on the long travel bike and see about racing it too. I will see how this weekend goes and I will at least try to walk the course, if not practice.
