Anyone here have experience with Snow Summit's bike rental fleet? Just curious if they are in good working order. Heading up there in a couple of weeks and would like to try out a real DH sled.

I'm sure you could find out online. What they carry, prices and all that crap. You're not limited to what SS carries either. I've seen multiple places with rental bikes.

Not too concerned with prices as I believe they are all comparable. Just want to drive my car up there and not have to pick up a bike along the way.

Not sure on SS rentals. Chains Required bike shop is also close.

I rented a freeride bike from them two years ago, and it did the trick. The seat post didn't really want to stay in place much (I was doing some XC with it with the wife), but when I pointed it downhill it was in good working order. They took some time to weigh you and set the suspension up based on that prior to you getting the bike, and they swapped in my pedals for me too.

I had no regrets or complaints.

They get new bikes every year, and they look really brand new now.

I remember seeing a shop on the right side before you make the right turn to go up to Summit. I do recall seeing some DH bikes in front of the shop.

I've rented from Summit twice. Both times I got to pick which particular bike I wanted. Bikes were in good working order, no problems, so as long as you are ok with a Trek Session, go for it.

I rented a DH bike for my son from SS twice. I like that they are on the property. One time he got a flat and he rode it down to them and was on the lift with a swapped wheel in five minutes.

I'm going with a Trek Slash from Snow Summit. If I decide to throw in some Skyline I will have a pedaling gear. Going up Monday July 18th if anyone wants to join in the fun. Thanks to all who posted.

Hit up the new Fall-line trail too, if you ever rode the originals, you'll like this one too, and should be a breeze on the Slash.

Loved, and miss, the original Fall Line trail, and several others in that area too.

Is the new Fall Line anywhere near the old one? Or is it now on the SS property? Fight Club rules?

It is not on Snow Summit property, they reused alot of the older sections of upper and lower fall-line, in total about a 2 mile trail now. They put back in the log rollers, incorporated the old rockgardens again, and added some cool new tech. But it is a bit loose still being freshly built, will get better after the summer rains.

    Uhhhh, what summer rains?

But thanks. Can I ride my DH bike over there and back, or will it require too much pedaling? @Cougar and I are going up next Friday.

I am flattered at the title, but @doublewide, @ridinrox and @Grego are far better Snow Summit riders than I. That said, yes, we will ride together up there this year. How about next Friday - July 15?

Would love to Chris !! But baby princess 2nd bday is jul 16 and money is already spent for her party, I'm lucky I got the lift ticket and money to spend tomorrow last week....

Too much pedaling for a DH bike honestly, the start is the old rocky uphill that used to be Dog-Trail off of Pirates and other small uphill sections sprinkled in on the upper section

I am scared to ride with Rox at Snow Summit. She will kick me in the nards - either literally or figuratively. But I'll do it. It will definitely be entertaining.:cool:

    See ya Friday (7/15) Rox!
