I worked at a tourist bar in Florida, Ricky's, and they were "famous" for their wings. The secret sauce was lemon, Tabasco, and....margarine!!!!

Deep fried and tossed with the ingredients. Chase them down with beer and oysters.

 

That's very close to the first wings made at the Anchor Bar... deep fried, then mixed in a bowl with Frank's sauce, real butter and lemon juice. A little ketchup to cut the heat if desired. And served with blue cheese. Never ranch. And for all that is holy, they are never breaded. I still have my giant stainless bowl that will mix 50 wings easy!

If you look at the back of the bottle on Durkee's cayenne pepper sauce, it still says something about used in "Frank's chicken wing Recipe", even though it was his wife who made the first batch... When my wife and I first got married and moved to Florida, it wasn't available everywhere, and the relatives used to ship it to us. Along with Weber's mustard, which my mother still sends me a couple times per year.

One thing that's still strange after all these years away from there. Every "restaurant" in that area that makes wings, also does pizza and subs. They have to be together if a business wants to make it...

If I lived there, I'd weigh 400 pounds... And fit in just fine!

I'm trying not to commit before everybody else in the family turn in their schedules.
I know that I'm going to skip one of my son's soccer games, and the fact that I'm the assistant coach is not going to change that.
Now let get the date straight, and I'll figure out a way to show up (or not)

Yes, updated to 9/9... too many Labor Day conflicts... the ninth still has some (@UPSed is a biggie) but looks like more can go this one. The second was posted as a "tentative" date... but just too many people going various ways. Kinda' sucks pulling the rug out, and should have mentioned it being more of a possibility. But you get what you pay for in party planners!

 

No conflict here. The 9th is my birthday! Did I mention it was my birthday?

No RSVP from me yet, only a maybe on 9/9. But if I go I can shuttle a few people up the fireroad then park. I can go back and get the truck later. Extra climbing is always good for me.

 

I currently have a ride scheduled with my brother on the 9th. He and I haven't done a ride in, like, forever.

You've seen the commercials how those two dude chickens are trying to be Foster Farm chickens... so oh yeah, baby! It's chicken. Only @Faust29 said it was not buffalo wings cuz he is an escaped buffalo, or something like that. I DONT KNOW! It's all kinda hazy.
