Good news, surgery tomorrow, a metal plate and some screws until the bone sets.
Again, thanks so much... you guys, your help and your kind words... mean so much!

Yay, plates & screws tend to hold bones in place and make you heal up faster and scars are cool (well at least for dudes they are). Surgery and the next couple days after kinda suck but in the long run it'll be worth it. You're a tough girl so you got this.

 

Naturally we expect X-rays posted with plates and pins. I left mine in...

 

Sorry to hear about the crash and downtime. Ugh...collar bones suck. (3x for me!). Don't try and rush back too soon. That accounts for one of my 3x. Enjoy the percocet!

Hmmm, perhaps we need a "Let's see and hear about your scars" thread here?

 

I left it in for a couple of reasons.
1) I did not want to risk anymore nerve damage from them cutting me open again. The doc left me with the option stating I was good either way. I still have some motions that trigger some nerves to tingle and heat up.
2) I thought I would set off metal detectors which has turned out to be a big let down as not one metal detector has gone off since obtaining my new shoulder hardware...

Agreed. I was in total anguish up to the moment they hauled me in for surgery. Once I had the plate and screws in place, I think I took maybe one pain pill and was good from there on out!
