I hate reading about crashes and worse yet the injuries that come from them. I turned myself into a lawn dart a few weeks ago and I'm just now 100%. From what I hear you are one tough cookie and will be back on your bike in no time. I will look forward to your upcoming "back on the bike" report. Get well soon.

Sorry you got hurt Sara. Mountain bike crashes seem to happen so fast. I hope you heal up fast and get back on the trails again soon.

 

Sara - sorry to hear about your crash and most unfortunate to get introduced to you this way.
Looking forward to riding with you (or eating your dust) once you are back on the bike.
And while you are healing, make everyone wait on you hand and foot (and collarbone)

 

Was it your dominant arm? In other words, are you able to wipe your own ass? In this instance, having to use a left hand sucks.

~ @Mikie and @Voodoo Tom ~ I talked with Tim Z yesterday, he brought my bike over and gave me the story about you guys helping me outta there! No words can say how thankful I am to you!! I’m usually a solo rider and have realized w this incident how idiotic riding solo is, but also have learned how freaking awesome people are esp mtn bikers!
I’m a humbled Tigger for sure! ;0)

Sara, I'm just glad you are going to be OK and we will ride again in the future. I think your fall happened a couple minutes before we rolled up. Tim had already assessed the situation and had you sitting up and was working on a make shift sling out of a jacket. He is a good dude as was a gentleman named Bill Likes who had also stopped and did everything he could to help. @Mikie is always a good guy to have around and has scraped me up off the ground more than once. Looking at your helmet there wasn't any obvious damage but one thing is for sure you got your bell rung hard. Be sure to give that helmet another good look for damage and probably a safe bet to replace it as it did it's job.

I also ride solo a lot. Not the smartest idea for sure but I've learned after a few good crashes and injuries to back off the pace a bit. Kill it on the climbs but try not to take too many chances on the downs. I've ridden some of the craziest trails the west has to offer and survived them all but somehow silly Tapia has taken it's toll on me with crashes.

Heal fast & strong so we can ride again and show you more great riding areas nearby. We gotta get you up to Wrightwood, you'll love it.
