About a 10 min drive to the start. It’s also a short pedal over to Whiting Ranch on Sunday for a recovery ride.

I'm hoping so. I told Jennifer tonight that she needs to start training. She's done two MTB rides this year.

 

As long as I don’t catch her.....she is good to go.

 

She's still pretty strong. She just needs to build up her endurance.

 

I’m pushing the broom again....so I hope to not see any of you.

 

No offense, but I only hope to see you where I saw you last year...I was headed up Star Rise as you were coming down.

And at the end, of course.

 

I really think both of you will enjoy this ride. It's not really that difficult, but you do need to keep a decent pace to make the cutoffs on the 50-ish. Try to start at the front of the clusterfu...I mean, pack...because the traffic jam makes the 91 freeway (or Sepulveda Pass, with which you may be more familiar) look positively bucolic.

But the stuff at the end of the ride, including the raffle and beer opportunities, is much fun.

 

We booked a place right outside Whiting Ranch. Who's going to volunteer to show us around Whiting Ranch on Sunday?

 

I think that could be arranged. Whiting - Old Camp? Or something a little farther up in the mountains?

 

I'm game if Jennifer is!

 

Got my attention...still never been to Old Camp.

 

What are the stats for Whiting Old-Camp?

 

The way @mtnbikej and I do it... 21/3400. That can be trimmed down, though.

 

Whiting-STT-Old Camp Overlook (not actual Old Camp)- STT-Luge-Whiting seems to be about 3500' and something like 20 miles. One of few rides I can probably complete. Drop into Old Camp and come back out = 3800'.

So I would like to do my part to promote this event. Can I count on ALL of yah to register and ride the Rwanda event? Let's rally this with an imtbtrails presence, ride the ride, then drink beer!

I think there is already an imtbt contingent representing at the ride. The more the merrier.

 

Ok... I guess I'm going to ride this one. It would be a little embarrassing to skip a hometown event with all of the visiting royalty. Hopefully, I can stay ahead of the guy with the broom.

I'm thinking Highball with gears and 2.2s! Yeah... No single speed. There are several long flattish sections that are damn near painful on the single speed. I rode a couple of them today.

 

It is a given that I will be riding this. And even paying for the opportunity. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year.

 

I'm officially registered... Of course, I was officially registered last year and ended up with a broom!

But, I did get to meet some very nice people at the back of the pack.

 

And FYI to all....I didn't see one created and thought this would be fun. I created the team "IMTB Trails" for the registration. I will get an email every time someone joins. Unless this involves actual work, thought, or money, I'll keep track of attendees.

 

Can you add someone who is already registered?

 

I have no idea...that would require thought.

I'll take a look at their page, though. You'd probably have to add yourself from the brief reading I did on the registration page.
