Maybe this thread will work, since IMTB seems to like themed threads.

Post videos or links to videos of mt. biking that highlights amazing riding and stoke. Only mtb - not dirt jumping, road riding, moto riding, bmx, or pictures of food - bacon being the exception.

Here's James Doerfling from a gazillion angles. No one skis on a MtB like James. And to hear him giddy with joy as he's bombing mach schnell at the end of the video says it all...

Ridiculous. And yes, you are right, it's not exactly what I had in mind because that's more about balls or stupidity than about riding skill, but it's amazing nonetheless, and he did appear stoked at the end - and who wouldn't. Well me, because I have more brains than to throw away my life on a stupid dare.

I wonder how many have crashed on that challenge?

Thanks for posting Dave - Amazing video!

Herz's video was cool! Some of that looks like a riot and that guy can move!

That White Line trail had me clutching my coffee cup, waiting for him to go over the edge. That's just nuts. There are other videos on Youtube which show how narrow the bottom section is.

Hells yes! I even got the producer of that video to respond to me directly. I was stoked! I love NSMB/IFHT/Matt Dennison videos.

This video really nails the heart and soul of the sport. It' a guy on a singlespeed hardtail in the Pacific Northwest (Canadia or Washington?). I hate that he can climb and descend better than I can on my full-squish uber trailbike.

If this video doesn't make you want to go ride, I will give you a full refund.

I'm going to have 3 espresso shots in the morning and go ride my steel hardtail! ;-) To hell with the full frappuccino 29er!

    Very cool video...

I am not a fan of riding hardtails, nor singlespeeds, and not really 29ers either - but I LOVE this video. The scenery, the trail, the mood, the music and the riding...

I also respect those who do ride any or all of those types of bikes.

Brannigan is the dude that threw that opposite whip in a race that I posted about in another thread. He rides like he's on a moto for sure. Love the shot of the two park dudes riding and taking the little jumps as designed and then George comes behind them and gobbles up all three jumps in one flight (1:15).

That video couldn't be more opposite of the one I just posted with the singlespeeder. The "soul" video in the woods makes me want to ride. The Brannigan video makes me want to quit. Interesting, because I prefer DH over singlespeed hardtails any day of the week.

    Thanks for posting!

My first thought was, "this guy is more fluid on the bike when it's in the air". Someone needs to tell him the bike is not an aircraft... :D

    That was cool!

I like this trail a lot. I don't know if this is a race run or a practice run. If it's a race run, there sure was a lot of traffic.

Loved this little 2-minute film of two guys on a trail ride. I want that trail. I want that dirt.

Here's some pure stoke and amazing riding - and tricks. Well, mostly tricks, but not on a prepared slopestyle course...

Great song, great riding - horrible conditions. I can't ride half that fast when it's dry. I would probably be walking if it were that slick.

Yep! Several ways to get-r-done! - Mikie

Naturally I liked the vid and the music. I thought that you had posted it before...
Of course I liked the stoke, one thing did come to mind (don't call me lame!), but I know how much damage happens on wet trails and I was just having a mental challenge looking past that (a distraction, if you will). His talent in the wet is amazing. I have only ridden a few wet places that had your gambit of wet slippery roots and rocks and that is riding at a whole nothah level! He made that look simple...

Riding in the wet in Squamish is not like riding in the wet out here. Apparently it does not damage the trails or do irreparable harm. It's also not that sticky stuff that brings your bike to a complete standstill in 50 ft.

I thought I might have linked this video before, but I didn't see it in this thread. It was VOD on Pinkbike today.

That's a great video of Captain Ahab... I watched a time laps of the guys building it. I need to find that and post it. There was a LOT of work that went into that trail. Not for the faint of heart I hear as well...

It is a great trail....sure seems like there is a ton of climbing for a DH trail....but oh so worth it. Think there were only a couple of spots where there was any pucker factor.

I so want to go to Moab. I can't wait until my boys are a bit older and can ride with me so that it makes it a less selfless trip than it would be right now if I drug my family out there :)
