Well, e-bikes are pretty quiet. Not sure how that would work anyway if they all have the same wattage.

Actually they sound like a vacuum when they come up behind you on the trail.

E-bike racing, might as well just call it motorsports after that.

I'm not bagging on it cuzz it's going to sound like I am...
But isn't it kind of stupid to have a motor on a mountain bike and call it a mountain bike race???

Now the concern is going to be how to cheat on your eBike. Covert hop up kits to get more out of the motor... etc. This is just plain embarrassing.
But on the other side of it. Good on them that they are getting out on hopefully a closed course that does allow motorized bikes and they race!

See? I'm all over the map!

I don't know of any vacuums that are that quiet. E-bikes are stealthy and startling. Unless a rider is tuned in and listening for them, the rider does not realize an e-bike is approaching until they are very close. It's happened to me a few times (only, thank God), and each time, I mumbled expletives as they passed by.

Cool. Now all the jerkwads who want to race their motorbikes can do so, and try to figure out how to regulate their stupid bastard-child of a sport to make it "fair."

    Good luck, e-thletes!

(Note: I still have nothing against e-mtbs for those who need them and ride responsibly)
