See......When it says 1st place on a trophy, it means you won.......well usually. But in this day and age, where everyone gets a trophy, you could have come in dead last or not even tried, but at least showed up.

I'm the crew chief for my buddies daughters race boat. He is a race official and can't get involved. She took first for the weekend and first for the Grand National races this past weekend at Long Beach.

 

Okay smart azz! Did he drive the boat, did his sister drive the boat, is it a boat? Is he friends with the guy that drives a boat, wrench for the guy, sponsors the boat? See where this is going?

Does that Yeti Cooler live up to the reputation?

 

Seems to. I still had ice in there after 4 days. It really helps if you pre-cool it with a sacrificial bag of ice, and everything is already cold when you put it in there.

I wanted a better cooler than just my Coleman plus I got 25% off so I pulled the trigger on it. It has some nice features. I do want to get another food basket for it to keep more stuff off /in the ice tho. And it's certified bear proof when you put a lock on it!

In my experience, not worth the premium with other options out there now.

Good-
Holds ice for days on end, especially with a dry ice combo.

Looks nice and has the Yeti name.

Bad-
Just had to warranty mine due to a delam on the lid which caused a bubble/mound on top. They said it was cosmetic only but Sh!t rolled off of it so I wasn't happy. Read many other stories online of the lids actually warping too which wouldn't seal the lid correctly as a result. Apparently coolers that were built for multiday fishing trips don't like direct sunlight.

Mine was a gift.. My wife got 20% off at REI which made the cost easier to swallow and it was easier to just return it there than hassle with the mail warranty process. If I were in the market to buy one now I'd do research on the brands that have come out at lower costs with some tests showing better ice retention.

Just enough raised up to roll things off of the lid, not something I was willing to accept for the price.

Trust me, she had a smile on her face! She loves that tent.

She's racing the Sturdy Dirty Race on that Saturday and I'll be volunteering. But we're headed up on Wednesday to get some rides in with all the Lady Shred Pals on Thursday and Friday. So basically we'll be riding all the trails in Oakridge!

 

That looks awesome! And she's riding Alpine. Little butt kicking climbs between the timed segments... She'll fly down that!

 

We did that one twice the last time we were there. Good Times!!
