    That's a good size. I have a 25 foot Travel Trailer and find it a tad too big for most of what Cathy and I do.

    That's a lot of travel for a trailer.. are you planning to race off-road with it?

    But seriously, the idea of a mobile base camp in the Eastern Sierra is super appealing. Are there weight limitations?

    @Mikie - totally get that. Need: bed, kitchen table, stove, toilet, fridge. That fits well in 16 feet. That's it.

    @kioti the son is pretty stoked on life right now and wants to start his grown up life there - and he figured his would be the most fun way to do it...

    Weight - good question. About 2400 pounds. Looking for 70's - 80's 12-16er. rear bed, front dinette, that sort of thing.

    Thx @riiz , but he wants something that he can move around in a bit, and hang-out in on those rainy afternoons.

    If anybody knows anybody whose got one gathering dust, let me know. Thx!

    @mike - it's a problem.

    @Cornholio that is exactly what he is looking for - but with a "frame off restoration" a bit above his price point. He probably won't take any money from me (pride), but I might offer it to get him into this beautiful trailer.

    Yes @kioti, but a little more beaten. :)

    Thanks all for the 411, keep it coming if you see it.

    Yup b-room is optional. He's got the work John, the outhouse at the Buttermilks, the John at the Burger Barn ... and the Home Depot bucket.

    Free Candy is really "van specific". Doesn't translate well to trailers.

    Much as I love the idea of a van like this for camping, I like the stealth aspect of a regular large panel van for general use. Less likely to get broken into if it doesn't look like there's a sporting goods store inside, or harassed if no one can tell you're sleeping in there. And unlike a travel trailer, no need to store it somewhere when you're not using it.

    I also recommend not having climbing, riding or skiing decals on it, and no bumper stickers. You can have a sleeping platform/storage areas/stove/fridge, etc., all with you at all times..wherever you might be.

    Stealth, baby.

    Everything needs to come out to use the van for it's intended purpose-moving merchandise.

    Now you're talking. Van or full-size truck/shell/camper: thousands of dirtbags can't be wrong...

    Where will the trailer be located? How would a Subaru move it? Economy car full of windows, ripe for a bear or tweaker break-in, is a poor choice for dirtbagging. Ditch that hipstermobile and get something practical that can be moved in a heartbeat. +1 for no cool stickers and less RV/more utility. Playing house in a trailer with no land lot is kind of a lame substitute for a home, and a hassle for solo dirtbagging. Worst of all worlds, IMO.
