They are a little behind the times.....but

    So just saw this:

Knolly was built on a ride quality that is equal parts great handling, amazing traction and exceptional cornering. Our new 29er will have all of those attributes and more.

Knolly is notoriously late to the game. Or, maybe it's appropriately patient. They were behind in bringing a trail bike, then behind in getting a 27.5. Late to the carbon game and now very late to the trail-worthy 29er. The good news is, they have some really good targets to aim at (great trail 29ers from many wonderful companies, like, say Guerrilla Gravity - a company with a similar mindset).

They know what they want to build and they know their target market. Their build quality is outstanding, and the 4x4 linkage (modified horst-link) is very, very smooth descending. I hope they got the kinematics right for climbing this bike!

Although I agree a bit late to the game, I admire their patience and ability to even have the patience to wait to see what others do then decide to move forward with a lot less trial and error.

Agreed. They are consistent with their approach to fad-wariness. They wait to make sure something is working, selling and acceptable before they commit their scarce resources to building one themselves.

Has to be legit, but 120mm? I know...Following, Trail Pistol, Smuggler. What did they all do once these bikes came out? They made an LT version (and/or long-shocked em). Just cut to the chase, already, no need for a XC whip

Maybe it's just me but I love my 120-140 whip. I rode my buddy's long travel 29er last weekend and didn't really care for it.

I'm just stirring the pot. I imagine the new 29er will be worthy of the name.

My 160mm bike is 29. While I can't complain, I imagine I would like it more as 650b. My 130mm bike is 650b and I love it. It will be my endurance race bike once I have the funds to finish it. My XC HT is 29.
