Inflamed tibial bioscrew locale

Yea..it snuck up on me over the past 4-5 days, incrementally getting more tender and sore. Then this morning I woke up and felt like I was back in February of 2015 when I had my ACL reconstructed. The area of my tibial bioscrew is inflamed and painful when I flex my knee. I didn't crash or twist or pivot or even kick a soccer ball. Fieldwork in August was fine, and now I'm down for the count. On the bright side, I have a desk job to fall back on and a grocery store fully loaded with pre- hunted and butchered animals within walk- I mean driving distance.

 

Sorry to hear that, DDD. Do those types of things resolve themselves, or does a doc have to go in and put some lock-tite on that screw, or remove it altogether?

I'm thinking laced Tuesday Taco's should do the trick.
If not, have the doctor do a biometric accumulator retrace to bypass the pain sensors, if that shows promise, then you could do a linear fit check of the bioscrew to see if the non conformance is correctible. It could be that the bioscrew (...and I assume the bioscrew is either stainless or titanium) is incompatible with your biometrics and that we may need to do a non invasive molecular transfer aboard the USS Enterprise.

Is that an absorbable type of screw. I've got two titanium screws (first titanaium I ever owned) in my left knee since the mid 90's and I've had no problems with those. (Other than the price, $250 each!!)

It's bio-absorbable, though I don't know the brand or maker off the top of my head. I was told it would dissolve within 36 months, and it's been 19 months. It kinda feels like it's attaching to my skin from the inside. Super tender when I flex the knee.

 

I'm at the orthopedist's office now...the doctor who operated on it. If I have to go back under the knife and put the bike away for a while, I hereby establish DangerDirty's shuttle service! Just hand me the keys to your rig and don't forget your safety gear!
