My goal was to make my mostly-non-biking friend like mountain biking. So when I looked back to see him go OTB on easy ground, I thought, hey, I'm doing pretty badly. Thankfully no serious outcome; he took my advice to ride the Smash and surrendered the Czar. Onward to the top of Dedisse trail. At the bottom he was all grins. Never rode with a dropper, never rode a 29er. Marveled at the trail quality and fun had, and says "I'm really thinking about getting one of these now..." Mission accomplished.:thumbsup:

Fun midweek ride at LCWP today with no crowds. After experiencing the Sunday morning crowds there this weekend, the solitude was nice!:) About 10 miles with fast, uninterrupted runs down Lizard and T&A with no one else in sight. Kind of a low energy day though - I think I need to lay off the kids' Halloween candy:whistling: (they sold it to me ... what can I say, they're trying to earn money and I have a sweet tooth:D)

Put together a fun little loop today. Parked at blue jay, “down” sj to cocktail rock, then back up sj (hitting the fun fest down to the creek) to viejo tie, down that, then left on chiquito back up to sj and car. Good chunk/climbing ratio except for that last slog

Couple loops up at Oakmont over an hour after work. Discovered a bypass trail that comes off the ridge I may ride a few more times to burn it in (fat tires are good for that!).

I rode today... And I forgot that Modjeska Grade was off limits. There was a flag person at both ends. No Luge until after Friday... Unless you want to climb Cadillac. :whistling: So I ended up playing in O'Neill and Whiting... Mark's Bench, Cactus, Live Oak, Vista DH, and some pavement here and there.

I did have a pretty cool encounter with a coyote on the way back on Live Oak, not far from the beginning at the Aliso Creek path. I crested a small hill, and started down the other side when the coyote darted out in front of me. I was right on his butt for 50 yards or so before he darted into the bushes and gave me a dirty look.

I also spent some time chatting with a couple older hikers at the top of Vista...

25 miles and a little over 3000 feet. Bikes are fun.

Another lap @ Oakmont today. I rode the full trail that I explored yesterday... comes real close to someone's back yard... but dumps me out right near the top of the drop in. Seems legit, right!?!?!? So zipped through there, up some, then over to the toughest climb in town, which I did pretty good on, even with stopping once! Go me! Another hour on the bike, as you may have heard elsewhere: Bikes are fun!

Why not just climb the Luge if you know that it is gonna be empty?

    Agreed!

@SnakeCharmer - I don’t consider the Luge climbable. In all the times I’ve been down it, I’ve never seen uphill traffic, other than a rabbit or two.

I figured they’d be gone after quitting time... they were adamant that it’s closed during the day, though.

I saw a rattler coiled up on the edge of the Luge once, watching the riders go by. Rattling a little with each passing rider, I assume. It rattled at me. I rattled back.

I have seen hikers going up. I have heard of riders going up, too.

    I rode last night.....

Thursday Night Blackstar Social. Looked like it was going to be a quiet night. Just Jeremy and myself. Saw @Ebruner at the Tree Farm, but he was waiting for a friend.

Jeremey and I rolled out in warm temps and dark. Saw a few riders on our way up. Made it all the way up sans lights. Ran into @Old&InTheWay at the top. A few minutes later @cajun and @H2oChick rolled up. Temps were really nice up top. Then we began our descent. Looked like VQ morning with the number of headlights heading up....it was insane. Apparently there was some other big group ride going on. Once back into Hidden Ranch, we had the place to ourselves again.

    Fun night.

Add me for a couple non-stazi documented climbs. It wasn't that bad. Sorry, you'll have to take my word for it, no satellite or drone footage that I know about. Try it during the week, keep your ears peeled and be ready to step to the side.

Kickn’ it at one of the numerous Starbucks in my area, enjoying a cafe mocha and nonstop eye candy. :D

Did the Cherry Canyon/GSC tour for about 15 miles and a bunch of climbing. Semi-hero dirt out there this morning.

Back home and off to work in a lil while.
