Ha! That was the SAG where I met my friend, I rode from home so it was a good spot to re supply before the hot climb. The VIP tent was good, and everything taste even better when you don't have to pay for it...

SART - Anaheim. Took the Trance out for a spin. Now with 27.5/slicks instead of 26". Faster? Couldn't tell. 30 miles. God Bless America.

Was jonesin' for a road ride, so I did exactly that. Had a blast, too. The only time I got out of the road ring (50t chainring) was on Modjeska Grade. :whistling:

Have been non-riding for a while, just little errands around town. Decided today was the day to fix that! Ended up doing a 30 mile multi-surface loop up into Yucaipa and out into the canyons. It was a GREAT ride, but I picked up a headache about half way through. Luckily the climbing was done by that point, so I soft-pedaled for the return home. Took my Salsa set up with 27.5 road-plus WTB Horizons. Still trying to figure these tires out and if I like them over 700X40C tires. In theory they should be great, but in practice... well, we'll see...

Twice actually. First with my wife on our tandem. Just a cruise. Then again in a neighborhood loop to test out the road plus tubeless set up I put together. It has a slow leak somewhere in the tape I think, so I'm hoping to spray enough sealant up to plug it. Both were nice to get out, but I missed a perfect day for a big ride.

I have not done a metric in a while so me and a couple of buddies decided to knock out 100 km yesterday. Perfect weather for most of the day. It's cool that we can ride in the canyon and on the coast all on the same loop. Roadies can be fun too!

Did my planned roadie ride this evening. 90+ degrees out at take off but it wasn't bad since much of the ride is underneath oak tree canopies. Did 3 laps around the Rose Bowl, enjoying the scenery :whistling: with each passing lap.

First time on the pavement roller in several months. Dang, it's so easy to ride and spin, makes you feel like Superman.

That rig would look awesome set up SS!. I see a guy rolling a SS roadie doing FAST loops around the Rose Bowl sometimes. His chain ring looks to be about 54 teeth and the cog is about 9 or 10. Takes him most of a mile to get up to speed but once he does, goodbye!!!!

Rode SB with Tom the Bomb today and the down kicked my A$$ more than the up! Great temps, I'm toast! Both of us went over the bars today, relentless chunk! Longest Sustained chunk trail I have ever ridden! No injurys, and no mechanicals. Hoping I have vid of both mishaps? Second time riding Cold Springs trail, second time over the bars.

LOL!!! You're not technically a true "roadie" if you don't wear skin tight jerseys & shorts, fingerless gloves, visorless helmet, and road shoes while you roll. I wear my mtn bike garb: baggies, loose fit jersey, mountain helmet, full fingered gloves, and mountain shoes.

We are a different breed know as "mountain bike roadies".

    So, don't be afraid... :D

I guess I was pretty tired last night and did not realize that some roadies got away with having a thread on this MTB site.
Yep me and Tom the Bomb are roadies? Sorry to make the mistake, must have hit my head on a boulder yesterday.

I'm an out of the closet triathlete. I spend WAY more time on my road bike compared to MTB. My TT bike is sitting on the trainer connected to Zwift, but I haven't used it in a while (miss riding my TT). I unfortunately found that I suck at triathlon, but seem to have a natural talent in the dirt, so here I am.

My roadie is a 1985 Bridgestone 600. I recently upgraded from the all original Suntour non indexed downtube shifters to Sram Rival 10s (given to me). I hate to say it, but the bike is even more enjoyable now. Also currently have 105 brakes (though I want to find a matching set of Rival) and plan to replace the quill stem with an adapter and add modern 42cm bars. I'll keep slowly upgrading it piece by piece, really a great bike to ride.

And I just added a new pair of Vittoria Rubino Pro Control tires in 28c. Like riding on glass!

MTB an I have a few disagreements a the moment (got knocked of by a friends at 20mph (long story), Heat, dry dusty, sore wrist from fall) so the fixie has been getting a bit of work.

Started moderately early and got in 40 on the Fixie, good fun, lots of trails and low traffic streets + a few miles on PCH (cant really avoid it).

Yeah. There is the occasional stroller and riders riding 3 abreast but it is a nice smooth section of path.
