I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I did not ride my bike today, because I drove 600 miles... For lunch.

 

Just didn’t feel like it. Being sick really gets me down

 

My back is an *******. Taking 3 weeks off the bike to try and get it to heal from this last event (happened on saturday the 24th). Hoping to be back near 100% by sea otter.

Too many repairs and we lost our other mechanic due to a crash on his bike. So its just me for the next 6 weeks. Its going to suck.

 

You're gonna miss the Ride fer Rwanda again????? Yeah, that sucks.

 

Cuz the wife drug my ass to urgent care and then thought it was funny

 

Yeah, i was busy that weekend anyways. There’s always next year

That looks like some bad news. Sorry to see. Healing vibes, rays and stuff headed your way too. I do like your wife's sense of humor, however. All of our spouses have come to terms with these types of trips as an accepted part of what we do. God love them.

Separated shoulder(or never healed from the last time says the doc) and likely torn rotator cuff. See ortho doc in a couple weeks but I think I'll be good to go before that.

Yup.....mine is ok......as long as I can still go to work.

Saw that post, but didn't realize you actually took your wife's advice and paid a visit to the ER. I guess you better stick to your Hightower now! Heal up fast.

 

Yep Hightower or Ripley from now on. Only saves a minute or two at best on the hardtail so not worth the trade off. Also decided I will no longer run the garmin mounted to the bars in plane view on these rides. Can’t resist the urge to race the clock so I’ll get rid of the clock.
It was the stupidest of stupid places to fall off but the xc bike gave absolutely no warning. I’ll keep that bike on the tamer routes for a while.

Brutal, you are off the bikes for a couple weeks?!

 

Put together my son’s new mini version of mom’s car. It has a remote so we can control it while he thinks he’s driving.

 

...because I was working on it (see "What have you done to your bike(s) recently?" thread). But in reality, that is no excuse because I have other bikes that function perfectly. Still, this is what I am going with...

 

His is way cooler, though, being a convertible and all.

Went to the driving range and hit some balls with my dad.

 

Little guy had his 6 mo shots yesterday. Long night. Long day. Fussy baby.

I did take him on a nice long drive up Glendora mtn road and across to Baldy Village so he could nap in the car.

 

Well let's see...
It was windy AF here this morning.
Shoulder still hurting from last weeks get off.
It's hot now.
Rusty is conked out on the couch.
Drank about a half dozen too many beers yesterday.
Went for a walk with the family instead.
Don't want to get my bike dirty.
Got both grills fired up right now with one smoking some jerky and the other doing jalapeno poppers.
Wifey is cooking up some other unhealthy appetizers that I won't be able to stop eating.
It's Wrestlemania day and Nicholas is 12 so this is the sporting event of the year around this house.
That's what I got. Perfect day so far.
