I did the same thing yesterday, and had the same distractions. I was extremely helpful pointing out all of the visible Aliso trails to my very grateful wife (who clearly couldn't care less, but played along as if her very existence depended on it). BTW, does that trail in your photo have a name? I know it's not "on the menu." Is it D-Land?

We counted 50 fairy structures in the 1.5 miles we walked. That's a boat load of work by someone who wants to put a smile on the faces of the little ones. I got some intel from a local who is involved in the fairy trail that some of the elites who live along the trail were complaining about noise on a Saturday morning and kids trampling the ice plant and "looking into their yards." Thus the entire series of displays will be dismantled tonight as "Lily's wings have healed, so she and the other Fairies are returning to Ireland..."

I believe we set a KOF on the return voyage. I will post our route on "Relive" later today.

Well umm this is for yesterday. I actually rode today but I’ll talk bout that in the other thread. While others endured some pain & suffering at SART yesterday I was busy doing some suffering of my own and banking up extra bonus bike riding points. Spent the day with most of the family over at the Ventura county fair showing support for my niece who was there showing livestock for her last time. The day started with a nice two hour car ride over listening to the mother in law b!tch piss & moan about absolutely everything she could think of. Then several hours of sitting around & waiting in the nice cool overcast weather while unknowingly getting fried by the suns UV rays. After a few hours of this and pushing the MIL around in a wheelchair I finally decided that a $10 beer was starting to sound really good so I went and got two of them. One for me & the other for the MIL who was much easier to deal with after a beer. Then it was time to go sit in a stinky livestock barn for a few more hours waiting for my niece to show her 1382lb steer named Chunk. She would be last to show so we watched the goats & the pigs & the sheep & whatever else till she finally showed at 7:00pm. Did I mention that 7:00pm would have given me way more than enough time to do the SART ride probably twice and still make it the fair in time to see the big cows show? Oh well I was on my best behavior and refrained from too much of a speech to the wife about how I could’ve gone riding at SART. Truth be told though it wound up being a pretty OK day.

    Nick got to ride…

    And he did some climbing…
    IMG_6160.jpg

And best of all my niece won everything in sight. Very proud of her.

My son had to sleep in our room last night due to new paint smell in both his new and old rooms, he tossed and turned all night and kept my wife up. I got up at 5am to start getting ready to ride and got a look that caused me to cancel my plans to ride and watch the kid so she could sleep in. I need a new hobby

This too shall pass. 18 years from now you're going to wonder how they became human so danged fast. And then you'll be too old to ride much anyway.

    1) It's pale ale. :)
    2) It's in a glass. :)

From a frosted glass, he can't discern whether it came from a can or bottle (me neither), so all is well

PS: I think we had a can/bottle debate here once, but why not... Cans rule because bottles don't summit. ;)

Because my lower back is all stiff, and crunchy, and I am in pain. Going to Dr. Friday. Hoping it is like the episode I had 2 years ago where the PT got me stretched out and walking good and pain feel in 3 sessions.

Confused - did you did or did you didn't ride your favorite, too tuff, too boring FLoop today (Thursday) for the third day in a row?

And, if you almost died, you are obliged to elaborate! Death by boredom? Almost hit by a car? Slide out on one of the slippery pebbles-over-hardpack "downhills?" Lightning? Errant golf shot? Band of marauding runaway teens? Attacked by feral dogs?
