I don't see this issue with a 6pm start. Even I can get up that early!

 

It would make for a spectacular night ride.

 

Also, just a reminder....it's still dark at 6 or 6:15. No lights are needed. By the time we get to Holy Jim, there will be enough light.

 

I couldn’t hang for the climbing on this right now, yet for some reason I plan on signing up for counting coup again. Looks to be shaping up for another good one, you guys are on fire lately with the group rides! Have fun and keep rubbers on, or whatever that saying is.

Well then my vote is for 7:00am, and that's my final offer. The day will be cool, there is just no reason for this early nonsense! I get up at 3:30am every day for my stinkin' job!

 

Yeah, so sleeping in til 4:45 then driving 20 mins to the ride will be a piece wcake.

 

And I was going to tell him that breakfast would be on the stove bright and early... But not if we're starting at lunch time!

I will see you at the wash at 7:10. I will be the one relaxing and drinking a hot coffee while eating a Krispy Kreme donut. I will be unmistakable in my blingy new IMTB jersey!

 

How are the flies at the top of LHJ at this time of the year?

By the way I am just kidding around about the flies (though I always carry a net). Sometimes they are bad sometimes not. I have been biking Harding and Blackstar for the last couple of weeks. Blackstar - none. Harding two weeks ago bad at the last mile before Four Corners. Last week, none. A lot depends on time of day, temp and wind. The cooler the better, the windier the better. Obviously any time you are going faster than about 10 mph they aren't an issue, so I make a point of always going at least 20 mph any time I climb a mountain

 

I think I enjoy the pre-ride smack talk almost as much as the ride itself........

 

I have that exact head net but I got me a 10% discount at Big-5 when I bought mine. SCORE!!!

 

I figure paying the full retail price of $3.99 is letting someone keep a job who might otherwise not have one. Nice going, mister career-wrecker!

 

LOL! Actually, my Niece works there so she gave me her employee discount. SCORE, big time!!!

Okay, it sounds like I have wife clearance.

I'm going to be slow on the climbs. So anyone that doesn't think they have what it takes - COME BE MY BUDDY. (@Cornholio I'm looking at you) Especially looking at that rider list, I'm easily going to be double digit minutes behind the others on the LHJ climb. My best climb up LHJ is 1:40, and I'm going to be closer to 2hr than I'm gonna be to 1:40 Saturday. I'll go faster once we make it across MD to the top of Trabuco But until then, I'll be sweeping heh. (And again, if y'all drop me, it's okay. I know my way, and I know I can do the ride - even on base mileage that I might only have atm)

 

Guys, I'm so flippin' stoked! Best people on the planet here!

 

I'm looking for a slow wheel to latch on to... I just gotta' fit the time in to get organized and out there!!!
