Asking a pretty penny for a low component set.

The frame is only 1/2 (or less) the expense of a bike. I'd be hating life with GX components. Bike manufacturers love to wave "carbon" in front of peoples' eyes... while sneaking in the lowest components they can afford.

Personally, I go the other route - highest possible components on an "average" frame. I've never looked back with silky smooth shifters, responsive brakes you can operate with a pinky, etc.

But hey, he throws in a free carbon water bottle cage, LOL!

GX components work surprisingly well, they just use less carbon to save costs. My Enduro is a GX spec, and it shifts just as well as my XX1 bike. Just the components weigh a lot.

That said, my Enduro is the entry model, Aluminum Comp that comes in at near 36 pounds without a water bottle. I just wanted a bike I can throw down the trails and not worry about.

Who specs an Enduro/AM bike with an 80mm stem and a 2x11 drivetrain? They must not have got the memo that todays Enduro bikes went boost, 1x and a longer reach.

Dude's some sort of rep for cheap Chinese frame/parts company and that frame is sold on Amazon and alibaba. Someone recently posted a comment on his page about shady business practices so yeah, it's way over priced and from a suspect source.

I hope you didn't spend $3600 on it! $1500 - $1800 would be more like it.

I'm sorry - I got my numbers mixed up. I was referring to the earlier bike in the OP's initial link.

Coming from XT/XTR/XO/XX/XX1, I was impressed with the GX group I rode the last two days.

When I was reading the post on pink bike, the "27.5er" caught my eye, because I couldn't pronunce it. 26er yes, 29er yes, but 27.5er ?

My first decent bike was called "SixFiftyB", so that has always stuck for me.

32lbs for a carbon bike? My tracer aluminum is that weight and cost less.

Personally I prefer to buy a 30 lb bike... and then go on a diet and lose ten pounds :) I get a better work-out, AND I'm healthier. It's a win/win!

All joking aside, this is truly what I feel about weight and biking. Someone once asked me about my dropper post and whether it was worth the "1 lb" weight penalty. Meanwhile this dude had two quart water bottles on his bike, adding slightly over 4 lbs to his ride :) Personally, anything that you add to your bike that increases the enjoyment factor so that you ride more is a good investment. If your ass hurts during rides, go ahead and buy a big fat gel seat. If you ride twice as much because of it, it was money well spent!

My only gripe with a heavy bike is that I stupidly bought a roof rack system and lugging 32lbs on top of the car is a PITA. It's one of the many reasons I ride my xc salsa at 26lbs more than my tracer. What would I prefer riding? Tracer with a dropper. Its by far a more shreddier bike, and my legs look like tree trunks after a good pedaling.

One of the reasons I went with a receiver rack. That, fuel mileage, and my wife is 5' tall.

You know, it's kinda funny, but I have never weighed my bikes. After all this talk about bike weight, I just went out and weighed my 29er. 27.8 lbs with a large aluminum frame and full suspension, including 2 x 11 drive train, pedals, dropper post, and slime tubes. Tubeless would drop the weight about a pound.

    That IS a heavy bike.

These guys really should learn how to stage and spec a bike. Use a 50mm stem and slam it:D. Also speccing a 1x will make it more appealing nowadays. I'm willing to be that the guys selling the bikes don't ride bikes:bang:.
