    Guys,
I have been working a Forum Email issue for weeks now, In fact I have been on the phone with GoDaddy for well over an hour now for several nights in a row.

The email system shut down again. Just wanted you to know I'm working it!

    • When someone signs up as a member it sends them a confirmation email to verify it is them. Also sends me an email so I can check if they are malicious folks outside our usual hooligans,
    • when someone checks a couple of boxes at the bottom of their post to watch a particular thread, it will send you an email to let you know a member has added a post to your watched thread.
    • if you start a private message with another member it sends an email alert who you are PM'ing.
    • Then there is the Contact Us for.
Yeah to include that as well...

    Nothing else.

Just got off the phone. So they are telling me I need to jump on a Dedicated Server (bucks!)
$1733 per year to start. What the Fu....?
Sent out a shout to @AndyB and hopefully he can guide me towards some sanity.

If it comes down to dumping a load of cash, I think we can live without the email notification system thingy.

That comes out to, what, $1.48 per member? Get their credit card info up front!!

Edit - hell, I'd pony up at least $5 for this place.

Hmmm, that brings another meaning to "wrenching it up" and "hold."

Oh, and I can live without all of the e-mail interfaces. I don't need notifications, reminders, alerts, hot topics of the week or anything of the sort. Just jump on the site to see what's shakin' (reference above).

All the emails from iMTBt go to my spam folder. All my notifications are visible on the site itself anyway. I never had to rely on email while coordinating Operation Godfather.

I’ll throw down $5 for the dedicated server fund. But can I get a receipt dated 2017? I haven’t done my taxes yet.

I appreciate you guys. Most of the email notification stuff is indeed superfluous, how ever there are some functions within it I need to moderate and protect the forum. Those are my main concern.

Oh and @mike... thanks for the optics distraction! :sneaky:
