Been all over town for work this morning and so far I have not smelled a single skunk!

I smelled some skunk weed this morning...I was thinking, dude, if you're gonna smoke it at least get some good stuff. Maybe Maui-wowie, or something from Humboldt, but sheeesh!!!

It's gonna be fun to watch the babies develop.

Get a pic of a parent on or near the nest. I want to see which species it is.

I guess it's Hummingbirds down your way instead of Swallows anymore?

 

Gonna be tough to get a pic but I'll certainly try.
For the last couple months every time I left through the front door a hummer or two would take off. I knew there must have been a nest somewhere. Which is surprising as its a semi enclosed area. Nest is about 3 ft off the ground between 3 doors. Really hope that no one bumps it not realizing it's there.

With a feeder being set up on my balcony for the last 7 years I get a fair amount of birds, so makes sense they'd put a nest somewhat close. A year round resident hummingbird and quite a few others that migrate through. Man are they fun to watch while sitting in the front room. I'd guess at least 3 species based on looks alone.

Not many swallows left....there is a good joke in there but figure I'll back away from the innuendo...

 

The most common species of Hummers in So Cal are the Allen's and Anna's. But we have the Black-chinned, Rufous, Calliope, and Costa's passing through on their migration routes.

I must be a horrible person...anything smaller than my car gets squashed before I go off the road.

Personally,I like the look of the portal. Anyone have experience with Jamis? Quality bikes?

If it equals hard tail efficiency as they claim (doesn't everyone?) Then the weight wouldn't really be a penalty...

 

To be honest, any current MTB pedals and descends well. All the current links can be hard tail efficient. Pick your link - Horst, VPP, single pivot, switch infinity, ect - be a fan and swear it's the best link. Just don't pick a huge enduro bike with 140+ travel and expect it to pedal like a hard tail.

 

Well, my 140mm not-so-huge enduro bike pedals as well as a hardtail, mostly.
