Big Sycamore/Point Mugu SP Sat. 2/6

Heading down to Sycamore Canyon in Pt Mugu SP. The ride will be about 20+ miles. Mix of singletrack and Fire roads. Rest at the beach at the half way point. Two really fun downhill singletrack trails. About 3000' climbing. We will park in the Newbury Park entrance. Try & be ready to ride at 9am. Directions from Newbury Park, CA: Take US 101 / Ventura Freeway to Lynn Road and head south. Lynn Road travels to the entrance. Several trailhead parking areas provide access to trails. 4800 Lynn Rd Newbury Park Ca.

 

Dang it, right in my backyard. But no rides for 4 weeks due to surgery. Perhaps I'll show up at TH and chit chat while I eat a dozen donuts and chug a quart of chocolate milk.

 

Any chance for an earlier start time? I haven't ridden there in a few months. I need to be home by 12:30 at the latest.

 

Earlier start? You got it. 8:00 AM at the end of Morpark Rd. We should br at Wendy and Potrero by 9

 

I guess you missed the part about me being home by 12:30.

 

Any one with a dime of common sense would know when to turn around and go back to the car.
@MTBHotRod it's easier if you exit the 101 on Wendy Dr and just follow it to the end it Tees into Potrero Rd.

My buddies are camping there Saturday night! Keep a look out for a group of 'em riding up Sycamore Cyn getting back to Moorpark Metrolink!!!

 

I'm hooking up with The Pedal Mulisha group from AV. They made the 9AM call time. I'd usually start at 8 but they have to drive a little farther

I can recommend Cronies for post ride 22oz schooners(frosted) decent food also.

 

Bummer! I had inguenal hernia surgery December 4th and was riding (gingerly) 1st week of January. Let it heal and go easy on the donuts lol
