Two options- 25 miles/3000+ feet and 15 miles/1700 feet. The 25 actually looks like 27+. What are two extra miles to a Marine?

The Marines do not publish routes and GPs data, but the previous years are on Strava...

Yup, I am as well. I kept looking at all of the hills yesterday wondering what the mountain biking would be like.

So I check out the website, and got confused :0 (shocking)

Is it "600 feet of elevation and varied terrain"? or 3000 ft.
    How many laps?

Then I looked at the schedule:
8am Race begins. The race will be started in waves for safety.
    8:05am
    kid’s Ride
    8:20am
    25 Mile
    8:40am 15 Mile

What actually start @ 8am? I'm assuming the only two options are 15 and 25 miles (which start later).

I might do it (no love for the Clydesdales), but I don't plan that far in advance.

The Marines do not publish any GPS data for the biking events on the base... The 600 feet on the Hell Fire website refers to the maximum elevation that the ride reaches. There are many Strava entries for the past couple years, and they are all consistent that the 25 miles is actually 27+ with over 3000 feet of gain... Lots of up and down, and no flat land. :) There are also many Strava listings for the 15 mile version, which has 1700 feet of gain.

There are also videos on YouTube of the terrain, so you can get an idea... I've never done the event, but I talked to a few of the organizers at the Century this past weekend, and it sounds like a good time. I will put it on my radar.

Not sure why I can't edit the original post in this thread... But I typed the wrong date. The event is actually on Saturday the 19th. It is correct on the calendar now...

I fixed it. There is an Add-on that I need to disable so you have access to edit your stuff. Working it...

Bump... I won't be out there, as I will be in Redlands that day. But, it still looks like a fun event. The road century on the base was a great time...
